My Voice: Macee Latimer

Macee Latimer is in her first year of Whangarei A&P Society’s Farm Intern Programme. She is enjoying connectinga love of farming with her education and is planning to take over the family dairy farm one day. Macee’s best friend on farm is her dog Digger, who is busy learning to be a top-class farmdog! Macee is proud to be living and working on farm in Northland while completing her Level 3 NZ Certificate in Agriculture.

Howdid youfind outabout theintern programme?I connected with the programme in several different ways. I first heard about it because my friend Tamsin started last year and loved it. ThenI saw the A&P Society at the Northland Field Days and hada good chat withour course coordinator where I thought yes this is for me!

Why did you want to get your Level 3 in Ag?I’ve neverwanted to do anything but farming, soI thought this would be a good place to start.I really liked the idea of beingonfarm and learning on the job.I was already doing Ag at school, well Primary Industries, which gave me some good basicknowledge andI grew up ona dairy farm, so I’ve been farming my whole life.
