Top majors for 2013 commencement

T

BY MARISSA MITCHELL

he most popular majors among 2013 graduates are elementary education, biology (including environmental science-biology), psychology, hotel and restaurant management (HRM) and nursing, all of which are being pursued as Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degrees. This year, there is a similar pattern with these top undergraduate academic plans as last year. For the class of 2012, the top five graduating majors were elementary education, biology, HRM, nursing and criminology and criminal justice. Within these top five undergraduate majors, few changes have occurred. The only noteworthy change is that the degree of psychology has been added to the list while criminology and criminal justice has been eliminated. see MAJORS page 5
