THE BRAND LEADING BY EXAMPLE IN THE CLIMATE CRISIS AND WHY YOU SHOULD SUPPORT THEM
If you have any form of moral compass then I would be right in assuming that the climate crisis is something you’re concerned about. With so many fashion brands out there claiming to be environmentally sustainable it can be overwhelming to work out which brands are just being performative with their missions of being environmentally conscious and which ones are genuine. So, who can we really trust? Well, look no further than Patagonia.
Founded by Yvon Chouinard in 1973, a rock climber who turned his passion for the outdoors and the environment into one of the worlds most successful clothing brands to date, has given the entire company to a uniquely structured trust and non-profit, designed to pump all of the company’s profits into saving the planet. Many have been quick to critique the move as strategic and for sales but with not much research its obvious that Chouniards intentions are with genuine concern to help tackle the climate crisis.

As a result of this move, Mr Chouinard said profits to be donated to climate causes will amount to around $100 million (£87m) a year, depending on company sales. So If your looking for good quality functional clothes that don’t cost the earth, then Patagonia is for you.
The Patagonia editorial featured in this issue shows a streetwear take on the functional clothing brand. Demonstrating Patagonia’s ability to provide for both comfort and style.
