The 420-acre campus that NKU calls home is nestled perfectly between the hills of Highland Heights, Kentucky, and the bustling Fortune 500 companies of downtown Cincinnati. You get the best of both worlds: a comprehensive education in a safe, suburban setting.

The people here will push you to be your best, help you when you need it and be there to support you. I am proud to be a Norse. Without NKU, I would not be where I am at today and with the endless opportunities I have ahead of me even after graduating.”

It’s never too early to start planning for your career. Our students receive more than just a classroom experience here. You’ll put your knowledge to the test in real-world situations through research projects, internships, co-ops, student teaching, clinical rotations and service learning.
“During my internship with Aetna’s Supporting Kentucky Youth program, I helped youth in foster care in Kentucky access and understand their health care. I was able to put the skills I learned in the classroom to use! I was also able to attend a conference in Hartford, Connecticut, where I met interns from across the country and learned more about health care.”
NKU’s campus isn’t the only place our students learn. Study abroad trips are life-changing experiences, and your journey can take you as far away—or as close—as you want. You can live new experiences instead of just observing them.

First-year students at NKU live on campus as part of the first-year residency requirement. Living on campus provides you with a community that is invested in your academic success. As a result, many students experience higher GPAs, stronger connections to faculty and staff, have a higher probability of securing internships and are more likely to graduate on time. Students who live on campus also more frequently utilize campus resources like tutoring, the Writing Center, Supplemental Instruction, professor office hours. We believe living on campus can help you have the best college experience possible.

There is nowhere on campus you would rather be during a Norse game than the cheering section. It’s noisy, packed and rowdy. But your heart pounds with pride, and you don’t stop cheering until the timer runs out. Every year, we send more than 200 student-athletes into competition proudly wearing black and gold.
