Old Fenimore Mill Point Approx. 1920 In the late 1800’s, the Northeastern tip of the island was known as Fenimore Mill Point, home of Fenimore Mill Steam Saw and Planing Company. Dr. Dan Andrews owned and operated Standard Manufacturing Company from 1910 to 1950. At that time there were only three fiber factories in the U.S., all in Florida; one in Jacksonville, Sanford and right here in Cedar Key, the manufacturing company for the Donax whisk broom. Agnes Tooke (known about town as “Sister”) was the floor lady of the broom department, responsible for making hat brushes, crumb brushes, automobile brushes and the famous Donax whisk broom. St. Clair Whitman was the supervisor of the machine department. Dr. Dan Andrews was responsible for a large amount of the employment on the island at that time employing over 100 people. Other fibers were sent all over the U.S. to make brooms. Today the same site is home of a collection of newly built luxury condominiums that sit right on the Gulf and offer large balconies with spectacular views available for purchase and daily rentals.

THE CEDAR KEY LIONS WELCOME YOU TO THE 55th OLD FLORIDA CELEBRATION OF THE ARTS On behalf of our island community, the Cedar Key Lions Club welcomes you to the 55th annual Old Celebration of the Arts Festival. We want to thank all the nonprofit organizations preparing and selling delicious local food in City Park. A special thanks to our Cedar Key Safety Patrol students working at the Sustainability Station to raise funds for their trip to Washington DC. We would also like to extend a welcome to the Children’s Table, our newest local nonprofit raising funds to provide food for those in need. Sales from this festival help to fund many important projects during the upcoming year. All vendors in the City Park are nonprofits and sponsored proudly by the Cedar Key Lions Club. For 55 years the Cedar Key Old Celebration of the Arts Festival has been very important to the local business community, Cedar Key School, our Churches, and other civic organizations. The Lions Club gives special thanks to all the volunteers, the city of Cedar Key, city employees, first responders and our local businesses. We could not have such a great Festival without their support. Most importantly, we want to thank our visitors. You determine the success of the Cedar Key Old Florida Celebration of the Arts Festival. Mike Hodges, President Cedar Key Lions Club
