LEADERSHIP THROUGH FAITH AND SERVICE
CHRISTIAN
CITY-CENTERED
INTERCULTURAL
Founded in 1891 by the Evangelical Covenant Church, North Park continues to embody Covenant affirmations. This means that we value respectful discussion and engagement among people of all beliefs. Here, you’ll encounter different Christian traditions among faculty and study as part of a diverse student body.
At North Park, Chicago is your classroom, your playground, and your home as you find your place in the world. We’re the first University in the nation to dedicate time in our weekly class schedule to engage the city. Catalyst 606 offers facultyguided group excursions as part of your coursework.
Almost half of our students identify as persons of color, a fact that brings rich diversity to every aspect of campus life. North Park recently was named a Hispanic Serving Institution, a prestigious designation awarded only to those universities that provide equitable outcomes for its Hispanic students.
INTERNATIONAL ADMISSIONS North Park has welcomed students from 40 different countries, and offers a comprehensive orientation to help them acclimate to life in America and at North Park. The Office of International Affairs is well-equipped to help answer questions about visas, health insurance, and work permits.
SCHOLARSHIPS International students seeking scholarships must submit financial documentation of resources such as personal funds, family support, U.S. sponsor support, and other scholarships or educational funding. Because international students are not eligible to access United States federal or state funding to attend college, North Park University offers International Student Grants to international traditional undergraduates who are admitted to the University. The amount of these grants will be reflected in the financial aid package you receive from the University. You may also be eligible to apply for talent-based scholarships in music (audition required), art, theatre, or journalism. If you intend to seek a career teaching history at the secondary or university level, you may apply for the Virginia E. Hahn Memorial Scholarship.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT SPOTLIGHT Melody Fevrier is from the Caribbean Island nation of St. Lucia. A Music and General Studies major, Melody transferred to North Park from Roosevelt University in Spring of 2020. Melody was drawn to North Park for its Certificate in Music for Social Change and Human Values program, as well as for NP’s city-centered Catalyst program and outstanding music professors. “These professors, and North Park’s programs, embody a sense of integrity, values, and sensitivity to humanity,” says Melody, a violinist. “After I graduate, I hope to take time to reflect on how I can impact my community, both here and back home. My experience at North Park has been mostly a time of reflection and reiteration of my spirit.” North Park’s location was another huge draw for Fevrier. “I love the city of Chicago. It is rich in culture and history, and there is always an adventure to have, whether it in the arts, great food, or a casual nighttime bike ride.”
