Luke & Haley

DESCRIBE YOUR ENGAGEMENT

The bride (Haley) grew up in Granger, Indiana where her parents still reside. The groom (Luke) flew to Indiana to ask her parents for her hand in marriage, and the bride's father took him to their local trusted jeweler to pick out her engagement ring.

Once the ring was secured (and transported across the country to California by Luke's father!) he dropped a knee on the valley floor of Yosemite National Park. An intimate moment captured on camera by a family friend hiding in the bushes!

DESCRIBE YOUR WEDDING VISION

An oceanfront celebration featuring peonies, soft blues and classic elegance with a stunning view. With guests coming from all over the country, we wanted everyone to feel like it was a destination wedding within the states and the Ritz Carlton at Amelia Island did not disappoint.

YOUR ADVICE TO ENGAGED COUPLES

Your big day is of course about you and your vision - but remember, the people that love and care about you have been looking forward to this day as well. Don't be afraid to share the excitement, be open to ideas (especially areas that you aren't SUPER

passionate about - think linens, chargers, etc.) and let the professionals do their jobs! Planning a wedding is wonderful, but it's also very stressful. Lean on your friends, family - anyone you trust has your best interest at heart!

DESCRIBE YOUR WEDDING DAY

Both the Bride and Groom carried photos of their late grandparents, and the Father of the Bride opened the ceremony with a prayer and a special dedication written through the eyes of his late Father. The strings playing Dancing Queen as the Bride walked down the aisle, heartfelt hand-written vows, the Bride's dog Ryder and the beautiful sentiments from the officiant didn't leave one dry eye after the ceremony concluded.

Moving into dinner and dancing, the Best Man delivered an equally beautiful and hilarious speech. Cabernet Sauvignon from Jordan Winery fueled a night filled with unbelievably special memories. A day beyond our wildest dreams thanks to so many people.

Venue & Food

The Pavilion at Sandy Pines Country Club offers an idyllic setting for an outdoor wedding. Surrounded by a beautifully manicured garden, this venue accommodates up to 200 guests with garden chairs. The reception takes place just steps away in the Pavilion, ensuring you're covered in case of rain.

A notable advantage of choosing Sandy Pines is the availability of an on-site wedding planner and designer. The Bridal House and groom’s lounge provide spacious, comfortable areas for the bridal party, both overlooking the picturesque golf course.

Sandy Pines delighted us with a delectable dish. The chef expertly prepared prime New York strip steak, generously adorned with herb butter, accompanied by tender asparagus spears and roasted red potatoes infused with fragrant thyme and rosemary. The aroma had our taste buds dancing in anticipation!

For this stylized shoot, the team embraced a rustic ambiance, incorporating wood, gold, and neutral tones. The Pantone color of the year, Peach Fuzz, was elegantly featured in the tablescapes, ice cream area, and dessert table.

Floral

The rustic yet understated palette crafted by La Petite's floral design seamlessly complemented the ambiance of Sandy Pines Country Club. Her selection included an array of blooms such as peach carnations, cremons, carpe diem roses, shimmer roses, hypericum, lisianthus, ranunculus, accented with bunny tail, seeded eucalyptus, and baby blue eucalyptus.

Jerry & Lisa

KAITLIN PARKS PHOTOGRAPHY

Jerry and Lisa envisioned a wedding that was a true reflection of their personalities and the life they have built together. They dreamed of an informal, relaxed celebration that brought together their closest loved ones in an environment that felt both familiar and special. Their backyard, a place filled with countless cherished memories, was the perfect setting for this meaningful occasion. The guest list was kept small, with only their nearest and dearest in attendance. This included all of their children, who played significant roles throughout the day.

When I arrived to capture their getting ready photos, Lisa was in her room with her daughters putting her jewelry on, and Jerry was with his son finishing the DJ set up. The weather was beautiful, perfect for a backyard wedding. Throughout the entire day they were both so laid back and relaxed. Family was arranged in their backyard on each side

"Jerry

of the beautiful flower arch. Their children stood beside them admiring their mom and dad's love throughout the ceremony. The ceremony was short and sweet, and followed by a cocktail hour. Lisa and Jerry wanted to be present during the cocktail hour, greeting their family and thanking those that traveled for their big day. They ended the night with dinner, lots of dancing, a little bonfire, and fireworks as the grand finale.

For couples planning their wedding, Jerry and Lisa's day serves as a beautiful reminder to plan your wedding day for YOU. Incorporate both of your interests, and keep it fun! Wedding planning can be stressful, but hiring a wedding planner and a day-of coordinator helped Jerry and Lisa keep the planning process enjoyable and stress-free. Their wedding was a perfect blend of their personalities and a true celebration of their love.

THE BRIDE'S PERSPECTIVE

DESCRIBE YOUR WEDDING VISION

We both fell in love with our wedding venue the second we saw it, so we wanted our theme to match the woodsy vibe of The Wooded Knot. I love flowers, so I chose a floral dress for my bridesmaids and flower seeds for our wedding favors. We wanted our wedding to feel like a getaway for us and our guests, so that’s how we landed on a venue that was tucked away and hidden by trees. Our hope was to be unique and timeless. We were lucky that our venue offered decorations to us with no extra charge, and coincidentally they were the exact color scheme we had in mind! We fell in love with their wood tables, because it was something we’d never seen before at a wedding venue. It was love at first sight.

DESCRIBE YOUR WEDDING DAY

The morning was so peaceful. The birds were chirping and the sun was shining. I was the first to arrive, so I was able to take in the venue before the rest of the wedding party came. On my end, the morning went by very smooth. The men had a different experience, but what’s a wedding without a little excitement! The most special aspect of the day, to me, were the one-on-one moments with family and friends, and of course my husband. We shared our vows in private before the ceremony while holding hands. I didn’t know it at the time, but he was very nervous and that moment

together calmed his nerves. The ceremony was beautiful and went by so fast! We were blessed to have my dad officiate. I couldn’t have imagined anyone else up there with us. I was very nervous for the reception, because I am not a partier, but it’s hard not to have fun at your own wedding. The night ended with our last dance alone in the venue with Crazier by Taylor Swift playing. It was a magical moment that topped off the whole day.

YOUR ADVICE TO ENGAGED COUPLES

From the time of the proposal to the day of the wedding, the time goes by so fast. Take it all in and enjoy the thousands of questions about how the planning is going and decisions on the smallest of details. It can be overwhelming, but it’s important to remember that you’re a team and patience with each other goes a long way. All of the work you did will pay off on the big day when everything and everyone comes together. As for the wedding day, I think it’s so important to stay by each other’s side as much as possible. I chatted with guests that my husband didn’t get a chance to see and vice versa. The whole day is about you and your partner, after all!

THE BRIDE'S PERSPECTIVE

DESCRIBE YOUR WEDDING VISION

Above all else we wanted our wedding to be beautiful and peaceful. We are both the youngest in our families and we knew that these pictures will be some of the last of all of us together and dressed up. Providing an event that can pull together the excitement, sanctity, and joy of our marriage was our ultimate priority. To have a day with no regrets. We wanted an intimate setting to allow our families to feel comfortable and at ease as we go into our respective new seasons. We wanted our memories of the day to be reminiscent of the love with our guests, rather than the bills that were to come. Peace, love, and sincerity.

DESCRIBE YOUR WEDDING DAY

Many times we have looked back on our wedding and said that it was perfect. From the weather, ceremony, attendees, reception, photography, dresses and suits, everything was without flaw and utter perfection. The sun shone through the branches of the grove and lit shining pillars of light around the congregation, and everyone had on their best smile. Our families bonded together and there was nothing but compliments about the food and refreshments. Even now as we share photos of our wedding, people are in awe of how perfect the day was, people were glowing, leaves were green, and the love was evident in every pixel. Looking back on the photos puts

us right back in those shoes and right back into those laughs. Our wedding day is a lasting memory of joy and love that we can revisit in every album.

YOUR ADVICE TO ENGAGED COUPLES

The day of your wedding is something that will go by so much faster than you think. It is so important that you get great physical memories from that day that you can use to bring you back. Having a photographer that you trust and one that is professional is something you will be thankful for after the wedding. Get a photographer that will communicate with you and will be there for your wants while also giving their professional advice. In my memory I do not remember seeing our photographer a single time during our wedding, but afterwards he managed to capture every memorable moment from the whole ceremony. Something can be so helpful for pictures is getting together a list of pictures that you want so there is a game plan for picture time. Also helpful would be a Pinterest of poses for bride and groom as to help the photographer get an idea of your vision. It makes this process so much easier and removes so much stress. It allows you to decide on the pictures you want before the stress of the wedding day comes. My husband and I so often are thankful for getting a professional so that we can continue to relive our wedding every day.

SHANE LAWRENCE PHOTOGRAPHY

Welcome to Rae and Andrew's amazing summer wedding at Sandy Pines in Demotte, Indiana. This wedding stands out as what we photographers call a "signature" wedding —one we never forget and often point future clients to. Rae and Andrew were incredibly fun to work with and their love and joy bubbled out all day. It was especially meaningful for me, as it was my 50th birthday on the day of their wedding. It was a great way to celebrate, capturing beautiful moments at an incredible wedding with some of my favorite vendors.

Working with Krissy V, a makeup artist I frequently collaborate with, was wonderful as always. Carla and Katelyn doing hair are also among my favorite vendors, and our DJ, Chris England, is a former wedding client and I have recently photographed his young family. He kept the dance floor packed all evening. I had the opportunity to work with Jessie and Dave from Peace Love Films, who I had heard fantastic things about for a few years. I have seen the highlight video they produced and

it was so special. The combination of these talented individuals, along with the stunning venue and lovely weather, made the day truly extraordinary.

The photos captured throughout the day perfectly depict the joy and happiness that was present. From the preparation with hair and makeup to the hilarious vows, the fun never stopped. We even had a fantastic flower guy, who was a six-foot-tall extrovert, adding an extra touch of flair to the occasion. He channelled his inner flower girl princess perfectly as he threw flowers and handed out cold beer. I was glad I knew he was showing up and had a long lens ready for some action shots. Bubble guns, lively dancing, and a beautiful sunset were the perfect way to end such a memorable day.

Thanks to Rae and Andrew for trusting me with your day and thanks to Sandy Pines staff and all the awesome vendors who joined in to make this day amazing.

Designer & Floral

One of the standout features inside Nosh and Wine is the pastel chevron wall. Burns Special Events aimed to highlight this in the stylized shoot, crafting a pastel color palette that beautifully complemented the wall. The result was a delightful infusion of feminine energy, accentuated by the cascading floral centerpiece on the tablescape. Burns Special Events expertly weaves together every element of decor and style, ensuring your wedding day is seamlessly elegant and cohesive.

Not only does Burns Special Events help design and set up your wedding, but they also have a florist in house! For this stylized shoot, they used floral ranging from pink and yellow spray stock, tulips, shimmer rose, alstroemeria, pink mondial rose, blush spray roses, waxflower, gerbera daisies, pink oriental lily, craspedia, veronica and white garden rose.

Hiring a top-notch photographer is a must for capturing the best moments during your big day. Scott Tibbles Photography is the master of lighting! His photos instantly take your breath away. Each photo he takes is a work of art that can be celebrated for years to come.

Creating the Perfect Wedding Cake

A wedding cake is more than just a dessert; it’s a centerpiece that reflects the love and joy of your special day. Planning the perfect wedding cake involves a combination of creativity, organization, and a little bit of indulgence. Here's a comprehensive checklist to guide you through the process:

1. BUDGETING

Before diving into designs and flavors, establish a budget for your wedding cake. Prices can vary significantly based on size, complexity, and ingredients. Determine a reasonable amount you’re willing to spend and stick to it. Remember to account for delivery fees, cake stands, and any additional decorations.

2. CHOOSING THE BAKER

Selecting the right baker is crucial. Start by researching local bakers and reading reviews. Schedule consultations to discuss your vision and taste samples. Ensure the baker is experienced in creating wedding cakes and can provide a portfolio of their work.

3. DESIGN INSPIRATION

Gather ideas and inspiration for your cake’s design. Consider your wedding theme, color scheme, and personal style. Look at pictures online, browse wedding magazines, and create a mood board. Discuss these ideas with your baker to see what’s feasible.

4. FLAVORS AND FILLINGS

Choose flavors that you and your partner love. Most bakers offer tasting sessions where you can sample various combinations. Popular options include classic vanilla, rich chocolate, red velvet, lemon, and more unique flavors like salted caramel or lavender. Don’t forget to choose complementary fillings and frostings.

5.

SIZE AND TIERS

Determine the size of your cake based on the number of guests. Your baker can help calculate the appropriate size to ensure everyone gets a piece. Decide on the number of tiers, keeping in mind that more tiers can add to the cost and complexity.

6. DIETARY RESTRICTIONS

Consider any dietary restrictions your guests might have. Many bakers offer gluten-free, vegan, or nut-free options to accommodate everyone. It’s a thoughtful gesture to ensure all your guests can enjoy the cake.

7. DECORATION DETAILS

Work out the details of your cake’s decoration. This can include fondant or buttercream finishes, intricate piping, fresh flowers, edible pearls, or personalized toppers. Ensure the decorations align with your wedding’s overall aesthetic.

8. CAKE TOPPER

Choose a cake topper that reflects your personality as a couple. Whether it’s a traditional figurine, your initials, or something quirky, make sure it fits the design of your cake.

9.

DELIVERY AND SETUP

Coordinate with your baker about the delivery time and setup at the venue. Confirm that they can deliver and set up the cake on the day of the wedding. It’s also wise to have a contingency plan for transportation to avoid any last-minute mishaps.

10.

PRESERVATION

If you plan to save the top tier of your cake for your first anniversary, discuss preservation methods with your baker. They can provide advice on how to store it properly so it remains fresh for your special celebration a year later.

11.

CAKE CUTTING ACCESSORIES

Don’t forget to arrange for cake cutting accessories. A beautiful cake knife and server set can make the moment special and is a lovely keepsake from your wedding.

12. FINAL CONFIRMATIONS

As the wedding day approaches, confirm all details with your baker. Recheck the delivery time, design, and any special instructions to ensure everything goes smoothly.

By following this checklist, you can ensure that your wedding cake is a delightful highlight of your celebration. It’s not just about the taste; it’s about creating a beautiful and memorable experience that you and your guests will cherish.
