WELCOME In my career I have tried to inspire young people to be the best that they can be, to take chances and to bring about positive change in society. These are exactly the same values I have found at Northumbria University. Known as a centre of innovation, diversity and research Northumbria is focused on giving its students a competitive edge in today’s global job market.

“

My dad used to always say to me, education gives you choices. When I was 15 I thought he sounded really boring, now I realise he was absolutely right.

If you choose Northumbria I want to encourage you to make the most of the opportunities it offers, try different things, meet new people and most of all have fun. The things you learn at university will set you up for the rest of your life.

Just being at university is an incredibly positive experience and I like being around positive people. When I came for my first meeting at Northumbria I had a wander around campus and was immediately struck by how friendly and upbeat everybody was.

Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson, Chancellor of Northumbria University

“

Universities are no longer just about the quality of the degree and teaching. People want more than just a degree. Employability is a massive reason to go to university and Northumbria is very good at preparing its students for working life.

Our course principles Northumbria has an extensive range of undergraduate courses. In some ways, they couldn’t be more different. But here’s what every single one has in common. When it comes to learning, there are four things that every course needs to be a Northumbria course. Research-rich learning

Learning environment

Our research is helping to shape the world. And all the great stuff we do starts with a way of thinking. No matter what you study, you’ll learn that way of thinking.

We’ve invested heavily over recent years in our cutting-edge facilities, simulating real world work environments across both campuses. We use digital to ensure that you have what you need, wherever and whenever you need it: you can communicate easily with tutors, and access all our specialist software.

Real world experience We’ll give you regular opportunities to apply your knowledge and build your skills through projects, placements and study abroad opportunities. You’ll learn from our academics who’ve had incredible careers in business and industry, and you’ll graduate with the skills and experience that will give your career an edge.

10

Achieving together The most important piece of the puzzle is you. Learning is not something we do for you. And it’s not something you have to do alone. It’s something we do together.

To ensure that all of our courses adhere to these principles and remain current and relevant, our leading academics continuously review and improve course content in consultation with students and employers. As a result it is possible that there may be some enhancements to your course between you applying to Northumbria and enrolling. To make sure you are kept up-to-date with any enhancements, visit northumbria.ac.uk/ yourlearning and sign up for regular updates.

Award-winning staff So, our academic staff did amazing things before they came here. Now they’re here, they still do amazing things, and they’re regularly recognised for it.

British Psychological Society Fellow Based on the impact of Greta’s research around school breakfast clubs and school-based physical activity interventions, she was awarded the British Psychological Society Fellowship.

This is an incredibly prestigious title which is awarded through a peer reviewed process. I’m thrilled to have been bestowed with this honour, especially as my research is making a real difference to children, families and communities.

Professor Greta Defeyter, Director, Healthy Living Research Unit Discover more about Greta northumbria.ac.uk/gretadefeyter

I have worked with Greta on a research project investigating holiday hunger in school age children across the summer break. Being able to apply knowledge in the workplace by taking part in actual research is a very different experience to a class based project. I have been provided with the knowledge and encouragement to try new skills, and to engage in reflection on what has been learned through being given great feedback. Lisa McDonald, BA (Hons) Psychology

Professor Defeyter

Leverhulme Trust Early Career Research Fellow

Richard, who works in the Department of Mathematics and Information Sciences, was hailed as a ‘scientist of exceptional talent and promise’ after winning The Royal Astronomical Society’s Winton Capital Prize.

I worked with Richard on a summer research project and he was a great mentor. His depth of knowledge and research skills meant that I learnt a great deal from him which enabled me to go on to a position in computing at the world’s foremost particle physics research lab, CERN after graduation. A Multi award-winning musician, composer, engineer and record producer Trevor, Senior Lecturer (Media and Communication Design), has worked in most of the major London studios, including the legendary Abbey Road, with a diverse range of artists and world renowned record producers. He has provided music and sound design for high profile clients such as Sony, Digital Computers and N.Telecom. He was even on the judging panel at the 2016 Grammys.

I’ve learned so much from Trevor Sewell as a tutor, he is an inspiration for creating genuine music and he also knows the importance of good music. In my opinion that helped a lot when working on projects.

Achieving together

At Northumbria, we’re focused on one thing – getting you ready for the amazing things you’ll do in your life.

Everything we do at Northumbria is designed to help you achieve. Your academic experience is at the heart of the University, and there is a vast network of support in place to ensure that you get the most out of your learning experience.

You come here to learn. Obviously. And you’ll be learning from some of the best people in their fields. But learning isn’t something that we do for you. And it’s not something you have to do alone. It’s something we achieve together.

Gill Rowe, Associate Dean, Learning and Teaching, Arts, Design and Social Sciences

Here’s what that means for you:

The best thing about my course is the assessment criteria. It is simple and well thought through. Having the opportunity to present to an audience and gain valuable feedback has helped me improve my confidence and speaking skills.

We’ll be clear about what’s expected of you. Your tasks will always have a purpose. Our academics want to hear about your goals, and will take them into account when planning your work where appropriate.

You’ll be part of a learning community. In fact, lots of learning communities. Staff will structure and encourage these groups, but they won’t dictate to them. We create opportunities for interaction and conversations around learning and assessment between peers and tutors, both in the classroom and online, which allows you to learn how to evaluate your own progress and direct your own learning. You won’t be assessed just for the sake of it. Assessment is about helping you learn and taking you a step closer to your goals. If you did really well on an assignment, we’ll explain why. If you didn’t, we’ll work with you so you know how to improve. We are always interested to hear about your experiences of assessment which can influence future assessment processes on your course and more widely.

“

Ili Nadira Shaharuddin, BSc (Hons) Biotechnology

Our academics are exploring some of the world’s most urgent and complex problems. Of course they’ll share what they’re doing. But more than that, they’ll explain to you how they do it. Throughout your degree you will be challenged to view your work through a research-rich lens and ask yourself:

• You will be an active participant in your learning, with an emphasis on critical enquiry and opportunities for self-directed study.

Am I asking the right questions?

• Your studio and laboratory experiences will allow you to learn through doing, and offer you the opportunity to explore new ways of working.

Am I looking at problems in fresh ways? Does my work bring together different points of view? Can I justify my conclusions? From the start of your degree you’ll experience the impact of our research-informed learning: • Your lecturers will not only be experts in their discipline, many will have developed the discipline through their internationally published research.

Research-rich learning

Research-informed teaching empowers our students to become researchers in their own right and to co-create knowledge. It enhances their intellectual engagement with their subject and makes them more employable.

Dr James McConnel, Reader in History

• As you progress through your degree you will have the opportunity, particularly in your final year, to be actively involved in research projects. You may not see yourself as a researcher in the future. But no matter what you decide to do, this way of thinking will help you change your world. Discover more northumbria.ac.uk/research

Our research power We think research matters. And we’re good at it.

University is about more than getting to know facts and learning basic skills. It is about gaining the ability to apply knowledge and understanding to new problems. Northumbria’s approach to research-rich learning embeds this way of thinking, and prepares you to tackle the difficult questions and challenges that you will encounter in your chosen career.

Professor George Marston, Pro ViceChancellor (Research and Innovation)

Northumbria is the biggest riser in research power in the country as quoted by the Times Higher Education. We’ve achieved this step change in research capability by finding the best people; people who not only understand their subject, but are using their understanding to change the world. We have research described as world-leading in every single of area we submitted to in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF). For those of you who do not know what the REF is, it is the national system for assessing the quality of research in all UK universities. We have a vast list of research partnerships including Unilever, Nestle, GlaxoSmithKline, the Digital Economy Research Centre, the European Space Agency, NHS and the British Medical Association.

Answering the big questions Research is important to all of our academic disciplines and has a huge impact on the world around us. As part of Northumbria’s research, we tackle questions of major societal importance: • Can bio-based products and processes save the planet while driving our economy? • How will digital technologies change our lives in the city? • How do we investigate extreme environments on Earth and in space? • How can engineering enable more people to live with fewer resources? • What does it mean to be a human? • How can we design interventions to optimise the health and wellbeing of individuals and groups throughout the course of their life? • What are the environmental harms and crimes that are threatening people and the planet, and how do we achieve justice? • What tools and techniques do we have to design the best of all possible futures? If you would like to find out more about how we are responding to the above challenges visit; northumbria.ac.uk/research

Here to help Being a student is an exciting and worthwhile experience. But, like most new experiences, it can sometimes be challenging.

Before you apply, our specialist advisers are here to explain your funding options, including information on scholarships, bursaries, loans and grants. Our partners

Our partnership strategy is based on mutually beneficial relationships. Our extensive partnership network allows us to provide invaluable opportunities for hands-on experience, regionally, nationally and internationally.

Lucy Winskell OBE, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Business and Engagement)

We have award-winning cultural partnerships such as the international gallery and local landmark BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art. This

partnership has enabled students to work side by side with professional artists at the purpose-built cultural hub, BALTIC 39. No other art school in the country has this close a relationship with an international centre for contemporary art. Our wide-ranging arts partnership with Tyneside Cinema has allowed us to develop Tyneside Cinema’s Graduate Residency programme which supports the professional development of emerging artists. That’s what Mani Kambo and Hope Stebbing did when they graduated; the scheme enabled them to work on a dedicated moving image and sculpture installation.

I’m excited and honoured to have been given this opportunity by Tyneside Cinema and Northumbria University. I’m looking forward to working in an unfamiliar medium and creating a new body of work.

Amongst a long list of partners is The International Centre for Life which we have collaborated with for over five years, working on cutting-edge scientific projects such as the stunning Bodyworlds Vital exhibition. Centre for Life’s Chief Executive, Linda Conlon, said: “Our shared interest in science is the common denominator for working together. We are both about learning and our motivations are the same, but we deliver in different, yet complementary, ways and I believe that’s key to the partnership.”

Hope Stebbing, BA (Hons) Fine Art

Student projects Collaborative projects mean that you can use your degree work to answer a real brief with a real company. They also give you the time, space and resources to explore ideas, test concepts and create new ways of thinking, plus they look amazing on your CV. Dr. Martens

Unilever

British brand Dr. Martens has set a number of live briefs for Northumbria’s Fashion students.

Our partnership with Unilever has reached a decade. Currently, design-focused students and academics are exploring new ways to help Unilever meet their sustainability targets. Packaging, water use, energy – we help them examine every aspect of their production. And undergrad students are a huge part of this work, gaining real world experience at the highest level.

Design School thinking has provided us with a new set of tools to bring to life our technical challenges, and more importantly the potential solutions.

Steve Singleton, Science Area Leader, Unilever

Our task was to create an exciting new campaign for Dr. Martens, that would be presented and pitched to the local agency, who would choose one student for a short placement. I put my all into my project and was selected as the winner, starting my placement in the first term of my final year. Students at Northumbria are lucky because the university sets up as many live projects as possible, providing amazing opportunities that wouldn’t be available elsewhere.

Employers love travellers Northumbria is all about helping you to experience new things. And one of the best ways to experience new things is living and learning in a different culture.

We talk to a lot of employers about what they want from a graduate. Something that comes up again and again is “international awareness”. We also see student confidence go through the roof after studying abroad. Once you’ve lived abroad, made friends in a new country and studied in a second institution, cracking the job market doesn’t seem so tough. Discover more northumbria.ac.uk/studyabroad

Imagine where you could go When you start studying at Northumbria, you’re joining a global family.

Our alumni are from all parts of the globe and act as a resource to help you, no matter where you go and what you want to achieve. Whether you are living abroad or just passing through, you can meet fellow alumni and forge professional relationships.

Our alumni create opportunities for you, that we’d never be able to offer without them. We’re hugely grateful to them, for all the ways that they make our students’ lives better. We hope that, soon, you will be too.

While you study

We can offer internship opportunities to both our students and our graduates thanks to our partnerships with some high profile global organisations. The Santander Universities SME Internship & Work Placement Programme, for example, delivers exciting experiences and enhanced career prospects.

Our students have gone on to do amazing things, and have power and influence across the world. Most of them look back on their time at Northumbria as a huge factor in their success. So they give back to the university, and that means fantastic opportunities for you. They volunteer their time to advise you on getting into a particular career. They fund scholarships and facilities for you to use. They initiate work placements in their organisations.

When you graduate The Alumni Association really comes into its own after you graduate. Our networking meetings, social

events and reunions are a great way to catch up with old friends, but they also give you the chance to meet other graduates, who’ll be able to support you in all kinds of ways. Plus, all our former students can take advantage of our benefits and services package at Northumbria, including careers advice, mentoring and professional development and discounts for the library or sports facilities on campus. Graduates of Northumbria University and any of our constituent colleges can join the Northumbria Alumni Association for free. So we don’t stop helping you after you leave us. In many ways, our support for you is just beginning. Discover more northumbria.ac.uk/alumni

OUR COURSES Northumbria is new kind of excellent university with ambitious plans for the future. If you are a dedicated student with ambitious plans for your future, we think you’ll fit in here.

Interested? Read on to find out why you should come to Northumbria to study the subject of your choice, what makes our departments so special and what courses we have to offer. Visit our website and use our course search to find out all you need to know about your course – from modules to staff and student profiles to graduate careers.

54

Once you know which course you’re interested in, how do you know what you need to achieve to get here? On every course page we’ve highlighted the entry points we would typically ask for. We’ve shown them as tariff points typical of our standard offer and given you a range (e.g. 120-128 tariff points) where we make offers depending on the applicant’s profile. If you’re not sure how your qualifications translate into points, look at page 106 or visit the UCAS website at ucas.com

At Northumbria we have a flexible and inclusive approach to assessing potential candidates. We know that there are many different qualifications, skills and experiences which can all contribute to your application. We make an offer based on the individual and our published entry requirements are typical of our standard offer, so just think of them as a guideline. Feel free to get in touch to talk to us about any queries you may have on +44 (0)191 406 0901 or email er.admissions@northumbria.ac.uk. A member of our dedicated admissions team will be happy to help.

Questions you may have… Is my course accredited? Northumbria has a long and successful history of professional accreditation for its courses. However we continually review and improve our course content and delivery, and continued accreditation is subject to approval of those improvements by the relevant accrediting body. At time of print, we anticipate that all the courses which are stated as accredited within this publication will be fully re-accredited by September 2017. To ensure you are kept up-to-date with any enhancements visit northumbria.ac.uk/yourlearning and sign up for regular updates. To find out which professional body accredits your course visit northumbria.ac.uk/courses and search for the course you are interested in. What is an Integrated Masters degree? An Integrated Masters (MComp, MEng, MGeog, MMath, MNurs or MPhys) is a fully fundable undergraduate degree with the opportunity to undertake a whole year of study at Masters level. An Integrated Masters lasts longer than a standard three or four year undergraduate degree but gives you the added advantage of graduating with a qualification at Masters level. Please visit northumbria.ac.uk/ integratedmasters to see a list of these courses. What is a top-up course? A top-up course is for you if you have previously studied a related course of Higher Education such as a Higher National Diploma or a Foundation Degree. A top-up course allows you to ‘top-up’ your HND or FD and achieve a full degree after only one extra year of study.

What is a completion award? You can follow a completion pathway if you have started a course in a similar subject at one of Northumbria’s partner institutions, and you wish to transfer to Northumbria to complete your degree. You can also qualify for a completion award with a HND or FD. Is there a study abroad or placement option on my course? With the exception of courses with compulsory placements, there is a study abroad and/or placement option on the majority of our courses, which can vary in length depending on the course. You apply for your selected course and have the option to apply for study abroad and/or a placement after your first year. However, there is a competitive selection process and so it is not guaranteed. Please visit northumbria.ac.uk/studyabroad and northumbria.ac.uk/placementoptions to find out more information.

What is a foundation year? A foundation year is designed for those students who may not have achieved the entry requirements for their chosen degree course, or whose qualifications may be in a different subject area and who want to explore taking a degree in something completely new. The course provides an extra year of study for you to get the subject knowledge you need, and as long as you pass the foundation year you will progress to the first year of a named degree which is part of the scheme. Please visit northumbria.ac.uk/foundationyear to see a list of these courses. Will there be any optional modules on my course? Many of our undergraduate courses offer option choices in Years 2 and 3, you will be asked to indicate your preferences well in advance of the options running. To find out more information on module options visit northumbria.ac.uk/courses and search for the course that you are interested in.

I chose Northumbria purely for my course. I had heard many great things about Interior Design at Northumbria and how well respected the course is. One of the highlights was a field trip to New York, we visited many tourist attractions as well as a top Interior Design practice. This was an amazing opportunity to see the difference between a UK and American company.

One of the things I like the most about my course is how friendly and helpful the staff are, you can approach them about anything and they’ll do their best to help. The lecturers have lots of contacts, so if you’re trying to gain extra experience they can really help with that. The placement modules are amazing as you get credit for attending a placement such as a prison.

Admissions information Your choice of university is an important one and we view selection as a two-way process. You select your university as much as the university selects you! Northumbria University welcomes all applicants who are likely to benefit from and contribute to our challenging and stimulating learning environment. If you have the potential, ability and motivation to benefit from both your intended course of study and the wider experience of university life, then we can’t wait to meet you. The University is committed to the promotion of equal opportunities. We welcome applications from candidates of all social and ethnic backgrounds, and each individual will be considered solely on the basis of their individual merits.

Selection process The selection process varies between courses. For further information on the selection process for your course, please see northumbria.ac.uk/courses For some courses, a decision will be based on your UCAS application: the admissions selector will consider your academic qualifications, potential achievement, work and life experience, and personal skills and qualities.

102

For other courses, you may be required to attend an interview before the admissions selector decides if an offer of a place can be made. Interviews are compulsory for Interior Architecture, most courses in art and design, and courses in health, social work and teaching. The University does not currently ask for an admissions test for entry to any of its undergraduate courses. If you are made a conditional offer (including academic qualifications and DBS/medical clearance for some courses) then you must meet all conditions by 31 August 2017. Any offer the University may make is subject to the terms and conditions set out in our Admissions Policy and handbook of student regulations. Your attention is particularly drawn to the Student Enrolment Conditions in section 2, details of which can be found by visiting our website at northumbria.ac.uk/handbook

Advice and information If you require additional information about any of our courses, or need advice on entry requirements or the application process, then please contact our Admissions Office on +44 (0)191 406 0901 or email er.admissions@northumbria.ac.uk and a member of our dedicated team will be happy to help. Alternatively applicants from outside of the EU can call our International Admissions Office on +44 191 227 4274 or email international@northumbria.ac.uk

Writing your personal statement If you’re feeling a bit daunted about writing your UCAS personal statement then don’t worry – there’s a wealth of information available to help you get started. If you’re in school or college then your teachers and careers advisers will be a great source of information, hints, tips and motivation. If you’re not in school or college then you can find some fantastic resources on the UCAS website, including personal statement mind maps, timelines, worksheets and videos. You can only write one personal statement for all your choices – which can’t be changed once you’ve submitted your form – so you’ve got to make sure that it’s the best it possibly can be. Personal statements are all about you – this is your chance to sell yourself and tell the universities you apply for why they should choose you, so try and make your personal statement stand out. Think about what you want to tell universities about why you want to study at degree level and what really interests you about your chosen subject.

What skills, knowledge and achievements do you have that make you suitable for the course and will help you do well? These skills could be from education, employment or work experience, hobbies and interests or social activities. Think about which of your skills are suitable for the courses you’re applying for – do your research and make sure that you link your relevant skills and experience to what the selectors are looking for.

Your application journey STARTS HERE How to apply – UK applicants The Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) processes applications for all undergraduate courses. The UCAS institution code for Northumbria University is NORTH N77. Applications are made using the secure, web-based application system UCAS APPLY at: ucas.com You may apply for up to five courses and your choices should be listed in alphabetical order. You can apply from 1 September 2016, and applications should normally be received by 15 January 2017. Got results? Now what?

1

Research Start exploring your options for university. Look online, go to UCAS fairs, speak to friends and family and do some research at school/college.

Choose your firm and insurance choices Once you’ve received all of your decisions you need to take one as your first, or firm choice and one as your second, or insurance choice. Your first choice is the place you really want to go to – and we really hope that’s Northumbria!

FINISH

If you meet your offer conditions…you are in! Can’t wait to welcome you to Northumbria in September

Decisions

Selection

Hopefully you’ll receive offers from all of your chosen courses, which will either be unconditional if you meet all the criteria or conditional if you’ve still got exams to sit or have non-academic conditions. If you’re unsuccessful in any of your choices, don’t forget you may still be able to use UCAS Extra to make other choices.

Now you need to wait to hear from universities. You may be asked to provide further information or to go for an interview for your course. Selection processes vary for different courses.

If you miss your offer at Northumbria It may still be possible to accept you, but if we can’t then you may have to go to your insurance choice if you meet their conditions.

If you miss your insurance too You could go into clearing to find a place at university or you could take a gap year or re-sit your exams and and apply again next year.

Terms and conditions The contract between the student and Northumbria University, which is formed on acceptance of the offer of a place on an academic programme, incorporates as its key terms the student enrolment conditions. The student enrolment conditions may be viewed at northumbria.ac.uk/handbook Our courses

Admissions policy

This prospectus describes the courses offered by Northumbria University (‘the University’). Further documents describing the teaching, examination, assessment and other educational services (‘educational services’) offered by the University are made accessible to all students. The information in this prospectus was correct at the time of publication (February 2016) but is subject to change. For example, to ensure that all of our courses remain current and relevant, our leading academics continuously review and improve course content in consultation with students and employers. So to ensure that you are kept up-to-date with any enhancements, make sure you visit northumbria.ac.uk/yourlearning and sign up for regular updates. The University reserves the right to make variations to the contents or methods of delivery of courses, to discontinue courses and to merge or combine courses if such action is reasonably considered to be necessary. If the University discontinues or decides not to provide the course, or makes any significant variation to the course prior to the course commencing then it will use reasonable endeavours to notify you in advance and you shall be entitled to withdraw your application by written notice to the University and fees paid by you will be refunded.

Where entry requirements for an undergraduate degree programme are expressed as a range of grades (eg 120-128 tariff points), each offer will be determined on an individual basis, taking account of an applicant’s profile. It is not possible therefore to advise prospective students whether they will receive an offer, or of the conditions attaching to an offer, before their application has been considered. Subjects and qualifications being taken, predicted grades, contextual data, and information in the personal statement and reference all contribute to an individual’s profile. Our published entrance requirements are typical of a standard offer and are intended as a guideline for applicants to consider when assessing their suitability for our courses. There are no guarantees that an offer will or will not be made, or the level at which the offer will be made. In any given admissions cycle, the terms of conditional offers made to applicants will not normally differ significantly from the entry requirements published in advance in respect of the admissions cycle concerned. Any necessary amendments to typical entry requirements which take place during the admissions cycle will be published on the University’s website.

Finance information The financial information in this prospectus refers to UK and EU students (page 108) and international students (page 109) only who begin their studies at Northumbria

in 2017. The grants and loans you may be eligible for depend entirely on your own personal and family circumstances and the particular course you choose to study. Please get in touch if you have any queries and we will do our best to help. You will not be eligible for a Northumbria bursary or scholarship if you receive financial support from the NHS. Based on 2015 figures.

Other information Copies of this publication are available in alternative formats such as braille, large print or disk. In the first instance please contact our publications team for details. Email: bc.publications@northumbria.ac.uk The information given in this prospectus is for guidance only. In compiling it the University has taken every care to be as accurate as possible, but the prospectus must be read as subject to change at any time and without notice. It is not to be taken as imposing upon the institution any obligation to provide, or to continue to provide, any course or amenity described herein. We are committed to considering all applications received at UCAS by the 15 January deadline equally, and applications received after 15 January will normally only be considered if there are still vacancies on a course. You may, if you wish, defer your entry for one year, to 2018, and you should make sure you indicate this in the appropriate section of your application form.

ENJOY EVERY MINUTE We’ll level with you. Like all prospectuses, the Northumbria one is usually put together by university staff. Of course when it comes to our courses, research, teaching, and helping you to get your dream career we are the right people to guide you through. But, when it comes to what it’s actually like to be a student at Northumbria, we’re not the real experts - our students are. So this year, so that you can see what Northumbria life is really like, we’ve asked some of our students to share their experiences. Whether you’re a sport fanatic or a culture vulture, a foodie or an adventurer - here it is, no spin, no filter.

OUR INCREDIBLE CITY One of our favourite things about Northumbria University: it’s slap-bang in the middle of, for our money, the greatest city in the UK. It’s got more tasty treats than Heston Blumenthal’s pantry, more culture than Stephen Fry, more retail therapy than Black Friday, more sport than Superbowl Sunday, and more buzz than a beehive. And all of this comes with a world-famous Geordie welcome. No wonder Newcastle’s been voted the best student city 4 out of the last 6 years*.

OUR CAMPUS IN THE CITY Most places, you have to choose. You’re either in a campus in Middle-of-Nowhere-Suburbia, or you’re at a university where the buildings are scattered all over the city. This means it’s hard to meet up with friends, and you’re constantly rushing from one site to the next. But at Northumbria, you can have it all. You’ve got Newcastle all around you, but you also have a campus where you can have fun times with friends, feast on snacks from around the globe and dance like a crazy person.
