IN THE STARS...

Well, there is no denying that North Wales is a region full of amazing creatives as this issue shows!

Caernarfon based Beth Horrocks is a contemporary artist who specialises in pictures of beautiful North Wales. We have her to thank for our fantastic front cover image this month, and you can find all about her work – and her fabulous new studio – on page 21.

While Beth sells her art online as well as directly from her studio, artists Elly Strigner and Kath Martin have launched a series of pop up art and craft fairs in Old Colwyn in a bid to get their work – and that of other local artists – out there and seen. The fairs are a great way to purchase locally produced art at an affordable price.

Meanwhile authors Beth Haslam, Mike Leaver and John Williams are three authors that all have North Wales close to their heart. Today Beth lives in rural France yet she still feels the pull of her North Wales home, while Mike writes out of a converted truck in the coastal town of Porthmadog. Finally John is a North Walian financial advisor turned children’s author – proving that it’s always possible to change careers in order to follow your dreams.

Read on to hear all about these amazing creatives – and perhaps gain a little bit of inspiration to boot!
