Are solar panels right for me?

Energy prices have soared in the UK because of a rise in global demand and issues with the war in Ukraine, so people are obviously looking for ways to combat this rise.

As a result, people are spending money on energy saving technology, such as heat pumps and solar panels, simply so that they can reduce their energy costs every month. Many people are literally spending money now in order to save money in the long run – and now is a good time while their money isn’t performing in the bank.

The other reason why solar panels are so popular right now is because it is quite a simple system to install. It can be done quite quickly, in around a day, and other technologies that work in tandem with the solar panels, such as energy storage batteries, are becoming very popular too.

Solar is a very quick and easy way to have an instant impact on your home or business energy bills, and that’s why solar is leading the way in energy saving technology in the UK. We also now have tech that allows us to fit onto awkward roofs,

and high wattage panels that allow us to get more output for a smaller roof space. Of course, deciding whether solar panels are right for you depends on a lot of factors such as whether you have a high demand for energy and the right roof orientation – we don’t fit

solar panels on north facing roofs. Ideally the best roof is south facing, but west and east can also work as well, so that you get a nice spread of power.

Solar panels are right for most people but, as with everything, some people will benefit more than others. This is because

they might be working from home and are therefore using more power during the day than they were before, and obviously how many people actually live in the household will make a difference too.

However, with a standard solar system you can’t store the power. So the best way to get the most from your solar panels is to use the power in the day but, if you are struggling to do that, you can always look into batteries that store the energy. These are becoming increasingly popular and we are seeing a huge increase in people ordering batteries – up from 10% last year to 90% this year.

This combination of solar panels combined with energy storage batteries has resulted in a huge shift in the way people are running their houses today – and it’s really exciting to see how many more people will adopt this way of powering their homes in the future. n
