NEW HANGAR, HOUSING AND MORE: Intentional campus growth planned
In October, NMC broke ground on a new aviation hangar that will allow the college to double its airplane fleet. More planes mean more students can get off the two-year waiting list – first into a cockpit, then into a job with a six-figure salary.
The hangar is the first project in NMC Thrive, a 10-year campus master plan.
The plan also prioritizes new housing, since existing housing is at capacity not just on campus, but in the community.
Every student who can live on campus reduces the pressure on Traverse City’s housing market.
