That single question led him to the master’s in counseling program at Northwest University. Now, he has a growing counseling practice that helps struggling couples to rebuild their marriages. “Today my work has real meaning. I love what I do. It’s amazing to watch couples come in with little hope and leave with a stronger marriage than they’ve ever had before.”

“The master’s in counseling program was the perfect graduate program for me as a working professional. It prepared me for counseling within a variety of populations and settings, including healthcare systems and private practice. In addition to a solid educational foundation, I also gained a strong network of contacts that serve as referral sources, resources, and supports.” - Jen Gutzmer, MA Graduate
“What I valued most at Northwest University were the relationships I built, not just with my cohort members but also with my professors. The program’s focus on culture and social justice helped ground me in my passion to work with victims of human trafficking. I graduated and moved back home to Mumbai, India, and began work alongside survivors of sex trafficking with International Justice Mission.” - Shalini Newbigging, MA Graduate
“The social justice aspect of the PsyD program is exceptional. NU not only values social justice and diversity, but actually encourages students to travel to other cultures to gain firsthand experience. My time in this program has fostered my confidence and competence, which has allowed me to acquire training positions in prisons, private practices, and non-profit settings.” - Kelsey Scampoli, PsyD Graduate
“Getting my degree at NU has been an incredible experience. I have been challenged and have seen myself grow—academically, emotionally, and spiritually. I am grateful for the high-quality faculty and staff at Northwest and am especially grateful for their humble and caring attitudes toward students. This journey has been life-changing and has taught me how to love more deeply and effectively.” - Sarah Hanson, PsyD Graduate
