Leadership Education for Adult Professionals Adult Education Extended Education
Just one night a week and you can change the rest of your life. You’ve always wanted to pursue your undergraduate degree. But with all of your committments, it hasn’t seemed possible. Our program is designed to serve busy adult professionals—men and women with jobs, families, and hobbies. In other words, people who live in the real world. People like you. We recognize the need to balance the demands of your life with your desire to learn. Our adult-friendly format allows you to pursue your undergraduate degree by attending (entirely online or in class on our campus) one night a week from approximately 6:00 - 10:00pm, with an occasional Saturday. By completeing one class every five weeks, you’re able to focus your time and energy on one discipline at a time. You can dig in. Learn a ton. And then move on. Our approach works for busy adults. We have hundreds of graduates that prove it. Who knows? Maybe you’ll be one of them.
.
You and your classmates become a “cohort.” Once you begin the courses in your respective major, you’ll take classes alonside other students who share the same major. This cohort model allows you to connect with other like-minded individuals—people with similar passions and goals. Our hope is to create a learning environment where you’ll not only be challenged and encouraged by your professors, but by your peers as well. To help facilitate meaningful class engagement and interaction, your courses are kept intentionally small and will have no more than 25 students. You’ll learn together. You’ll laugh together. And—before you know it— there’s a goood chance you’ll graduate together.

What Graduates are Saying Beth Backes Class of 2011
Amy Weller Class of 2012 Why did you choose the LEAP program at Northwest? I chose the LEAP General Studies program with a concentration in music and business. Eventually, I want to set up my own musical business venture. I had previously attended Northwest University through the traditional program, however, my education was put on hold for a time due to financial costs. When I learned about the LEAP program, I realized I could work full-time and go to school, making it financially possible for me to complete my degree. Do you have any advice for prospective students? If you took a break from college because of financial reasons or any other reason and want to finish your degree, I would recommend that you look into the LEAP program. The program is designed to allow you time to work and attend school simultaneously. It also is suitable for a wide variety of ages and stages of life. Begin your journey with a LEAP counselor. They are very helpful and inspired me to finish my degree.
Describe your experience at Northwest. Building relationships in our cohort was the best! Learning together in a small group setting challenged me to grow both intellectually and spiritually. And I made some life-long friends along the way! How did the LEAP program prepare you for what you want to do? The course program helped me build on my theological foundation and broadened my perspective on how to best impact the ever-changing culture we live in with the message of Jesus. Do you have any advice for prospective students? Go for it! It’s easy to allow time and money to become obstacles to finishing your degree. I am so glad that I pressed through those challenges and reached my goal of getting my degree. It was really a transformative experience for me.
Investing in your future We recognize the rising financial costs associated with pursuing your education. While many of our students choose to pay out of pocket for their education, you also have the ability to pursue grants, loans, and scholarships. Some of the grants don’t have to be repaid. And many of the loans are low interest and require no payment until you finish your degree. A degree is within your grasp. And within your budget.
Financial Aid and Scholarships Northwest University offers a Bridge the Gap scholarship. This money is provided to help you cover the cost of tuition and can be over $14,000, depending on your academic status. Bridge the Gap guarantees governmental grants, loans and institutional scholarships for students in the LEAP program who qualify during the academic year at Northwest University.
