NYA Soiree 2015 Bidding Rules and Information Please understand that we cannot and will not interrupt the tabulation process to check people out early! We apologize for any inconvenience. Thank you for participating in this event. We appreciate your support of NYA and its students. 1. You will receive a registered bidding number when you arrive. You will use this number to purchase silent auction and live auction items and raffle tickets. Please be aware that you are responsible for all purchases attributed to your number. Do not allow anyone else to use your bidding number! Each silent auction bid must be printed clearly and written on the next available blank line of the bid sheet accompanied by the bidder’s number. A minimum increase may be required. Bids below the minimum will be disqualified. 2. Buy It Now! A limited number of silent and live auction items may be offered at a “Buy It Now” price allowing the bidder to “buy it now” for a set price and end all further bidding. 3. The Silent Auction opens at 6:00pm.To purchase silent auction items, place a bid on an item by printing your bidding number next to the amount of your bid on the sheet provided. Please write clearly. Items will remain on sale until approximately 7:30pm when bid sheets will be collected for tallying. 4. The Live Auction will begin at about 7:45pm. Simply raise your bid number (found on the back of your program) to bid. Volunteer spotters will help to ensure that your bid is recognized. 5. The Auctioneer reserves the right to pass on an item which he feels has not reached a reasonable price. His decision is final and is made in the best interest of the donor and the Academy. 6. All sales are final and everything is “as is.” No refund or exchange will be allowed except where specified by the donor. Please redeem or use gift certificates and gift cards promptly. All gift certificates must be redeemed within the parameters outlined on the certificate. NYA cannot be responsible for the value of any such items that are not used in the event that the merchant ceases operations. 7. Payment, by cash, check, MasterCard, Visa, Discover or American Express, must be made in full the evening of the Soiree. Once the items are paid for, you may take your items home and enjoy them. 8. The Internal Revenue Service requires that we notify you that only the difference between the fair market value and the higher price paid by the purchaser may be taken as a tax deduction. All prices shown on acquisition forms and bidding sheets are considered Fair Market Value in that they are based either on the actual cost incurred by the donor or on a reasonable estimate of actual costs and values. 9. Checkout will begin when all silent and live items have been tabulated. We expect this to be around 9:15pm. If you absolutely must leave before checkout is open, we ask that you leave a credit card imprint to cover items that you may have won. 10. If an item is not paid for and picked up from NYA within 7 business days, it will be offered to the next highest bidder.
