NYA Soiree 2014 welcome Join us for North Yarmouth Academy’s 2014 Soiree! This year marks our 30th annual fundraising event. The proceeds of this event benefit NYA’s financial aid, athletic and fine arts programs. This festive celebration will give you an opportunity to connect with friends, old and new, while enjoying fine food, spirits, and a nine-piece dance band. Early in the evening NYA’s Royal River Honey Badgers, our student bluegrass band, will entertain us. The walls will be adorned with artwork by all Lower and Middle School students, as well as some Upper School students and will be available for sale. You won’t want to miss this opportunity to see such a grand display of creations from our talented students. This year’s Soiree is made possible by the hard work and dedication of many talented volunteers as well as the generous donations from parents, grandparents, alumni parents, trustees, faculty, staff, alumni, friends and local businesses. The combination of their time, talent and treasure ensures our great success. Take a moment to browse our program and note the various sponsors and donors. Please thank them by patronizing their businesses. We thank them for their support of our school and their commitment to creating a stronger community. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve as Co-Chairs of this year’s Soiree and to work with such a great community. We look forward to celebrating this wonderful evening with all of you. NYA Soiree 2014 Bidding Rules and Information Please understand that we cannot and will not interrupt the tabulation process to check people out early! • We apologize for any inconvenience. 1. You will receive a registered bidding number when you arrive. You will use this number to purchase student art, raffle tickets, silent auction items and live auction items. Please be aware that you are responsible for all purchases attributed to your number. Do not allow anyone else to use your bidding number! 2. The Student Art Sale opens at 6:00 pm and closes at 7:30 pm. You may purchase a piece of student art for the flat fee of $50. To purchase student art, print your bidding number next to the student art work. Please write clearly. 3. The Silent Auction opens at 6:00 pm and closes at 7:30 pm. To place a bid print your bidding number next to the amount of your bid on the sheet provided. Please print clearly. 4. The Live Auction will begin at about 7:45 pm. Simply raise your bid number to bid. Volunteer spotters will help to ensure that your bid is recognized. 5. The Auctioneer reserves the right to pass on an item he feels has not reached a reasonable price. His decision is final and is made in the best interest of the donor and the Academy. 6. All sales are final. No refund or exchange will be allowed except where specified by the donor. All gift certificates must be redeemed within one year of the Auction unless otherwise indicated on the item description or certificate. Please redeem or use gift certificates and gift cards promptly. We cannot be responsible for the value of any such items that are not used in the event that the merchant ceases operations. 7. Payment, by cash, check, MasterCard, Visa, Discover or American Express, must be made in full the evening of the Soiree. 8. The Internal Revenue Service requires that we notify you that only the difference between the fair market value and the higher price paid by the purchaser may be taken as a tax deduction. All prices shown on acquisition forms and bidding sheets are Fair Market Value in that they are based either on the actual cost incurred by the donor or on a reasonable estimate of actual costs and values. 9. Checkout will begin when all art sales, silent and live items have been tabulated. We expect this to be around 9:00 pm. If you absolutely must leave before checkout is open, we ask that you leave a credit card imprint to cover items that you may have won. Thank you for participating in this event. We appreciate your support of NYA’s financial aid, athletic and fine arts programs.
