Our eight sessions offer an exciting theme each week and will engage campers in a variety of fun, hands on activities that are sure to keep them excited! From sports to cooking, Legos to treasure maps, these programs are sure to captivate children of any age.

Our sports camps are designed to encourage campers to develop the disposition needed for good sportsmanship, leadership, and teamwork. Campers will benefit from the expertise of seasoned coaches who bring their extensive knowledge and passion for sports to a variety of activities. These camps are designed to help campers develop skills, techniques, expose them to game and match situations and most importantly, to have fun!
ART CAMPS
Our art programs emphasize both product and process. We support the personal and artistic growth of all children, and encourage campers to explore the world around them as they develop their own style and means of self-expression. We foster a sense of community among our campers as we share our work and learn from each other.
ENRICHMENT CAMPS
Our enrichment opportunities are designed to support student readiness and comprehension in specific content areas and are taught by NYA faculty as well as guest instructors. Our courses offer campers the opportunity to target their passions through off-campus, hands-on experiential learning.

NYA and Circus Atlantic are partnering to offer two circus arts camps this summer: a beginner one-week camp for rising K through 5th graders and three two-week sessions for rising 2nd through 9th graders. LEADERSHIP ADVENTURE
Our leadership programs offer a unique opportunity for campers to develop the skills and dispositions to be a successful leader, whether it’s in the classroom, in the community, on the field or in the woods. These programs follow an expeditionary model, taking campers into the outdoors of Maine to hone their communication, teambuilding, and intrapersonal skills while engaging them in community service experiences and physical challenges such as sea kayaking or hiking.

Grades: Rising 12th Session 8 – Morning: August 12 - August 16, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm Session 8 – Afternoon: August 12 – August 16, 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm Cost: $250 per session The college essay is meant to be not only a sample of an applicant’s writing ability, but also a window into his or her personality, individuality, and values – a daunting challenge to even the best writers, especially when given only about 500 words! This writing workshop is designed to take the anxiety out of the process and to help students explore the possibilities of this unique genre of personal writing. The week will begin with an examination of effective and not so effective samples of college essay writing. Writers will then engage in activities that will help them mine for meaningful topics, generate and refine their original voice, and efficiently organize their writing. Students will have the opportunity to receive feedback from peers and a veteran writing instructor. Additionally, insights and advice from seasoned college guidance and admissions professionals will be shared. The course does not promise a polished college essay at the end of the week, but hopes to offer students the understanding, tools, and inspiration that will eventually yield a dynamic college essay.
