E-208 WITH A NEW DESIGN, POWERTRAINS AND TECHNOLOGIES
PEUGEOT has updated the 208 and E-208 with a new design, new powertrains and technologies across both fully electric and petrol variants. The 208 was the best-selling car in Europe in 2022, with the new updates ensuring it will remain a favourite with buyers. Orders for the new 208 and E-208 will open in October 2023.
• More Allure with an irresistible sporty look featuring a new, more modern, PEUGEOT light signature.
• More Emotion with an enhanced digital PEUGEOT i-Cockpit® that boosts driving pleasure.
• More Excellence with electrification in its DNA and a new E-208, offering a range of 248 miles (under approval), new HYBRID 100 and HYBRID 136 engines and the latest generation of PEUGEOT infotainment systems.
Allure: An eye-catching, athletic design
The new PEUGEOT front light signature, which was first displayed on the 9X8 Hypercar, the new 508 and 508 SW, and more recently on the new 2008, is now present on the new 208 and E-208 as well. A distinguishing feature of this trademark is the three long, vertical light claws, which are incorporated into the gloss black inserts on the bumper. The 208 now appears to be wider thanks to their relocation to the outside edge of the vehicle.
All new 208 versions have a completely redesigned front end that ushers the car into a new age of Peugeot design with the brand's new logo at its centrepiece. A changing body-color pattern on the grille has been extended into the bumper. The grille and body are now one piece rather than being divided into separate parts.
Rear light signature redesign
The new 208 horizontally arranges the brand's iconic rear light signature, which consists of three distinct red claws. They are made up of three stylish lines of LEDs that intersect the black strip across the boot lid, giving the car a dominating back view and giving the impression that it is wider. Reversing lights and indicators are also LEDs on GT models.
New wheel designs
A standout feature of the new 208 is the new alloy wheel designs inspired by the new 408. The new designs include 16-inch ‘NOMA’ diamond-cut two-tone wheels for ALLURE trim and 17-inch ‘YANAKA’ diamond-cut two-tone wheels with inserts for GT. All alloy wheels feature a new four-spoke centre cap, prominently featuring the PEUGEOT shield which also neatly conceals the wheel bolts.
Excellence: Electrification taken to the next level
Improved electric range
New E-208 models come with PEUGEOT’s new 115kW (156bhp) electric motor and 51kWh battery capable of up to 248 miles between charges (WLTP certification under approval).
A 7.4kW single-phase charger is supplied as standard on all E-208 models, while a three-phase 11kW charger is available as an option. A 20-80% charge is estimated to take less than 25 minutes when using a 100kW rapid charger, extending to 4hrs and 40 minutes when using a 7.4kW charger.
New hybrid powertrains: For the first time, the PEUGEOT 208 is offered with two new 48V hybrid powertrains that pair the most recent PureTech 100 bhp and 136 bhp petrol engines with an electric motor housed in the e-DSC6 dual-clutch, six-speed automatic transmission. This technology provides more torque at low revs and up to 15% less fuel usage thanks to a battery that recharges while you're driving. The new 208 HYBRID 100 and HYBRID 136 can operate in 100% zeroemission electric mode for more than 50% of the time while travelling in urban areas.
