The Norwalk Public Schools Alumni Association invites you to attend the fifth annual reunion for all classes on Sunday, August 21, 2011, at Norwalk High School on Shady Lane Drive. The event will begin at 2:00 p.m. and end at 5:00 p.m. No reservations are required for this free event. Come and enjoy good fellowship, free refreshments and wonderful conversations. There will be more seating available then there was at past reunions. Special assistance will be available for those individuals who need it. The Norwalk Athletic Boosters will be providing a cart that will travel back and forth from the parking lot to the school for those who need additional help.
Wheelchairs will be available at the door to use to and from the gymnasium. The Class of 1961 will celebrate it‟s 50th anniversary at the event. A notice is being sent to members of the Class of „61. The Class of 1957 has already begun it‟s planning for their 55th anniversary to be celebrated in 2012. The Alumni Reunion is scheduled for August 19th next year. The classes of 1961, 1962, and 1963 now have class composites available courtesy of the NPSAA. Plans are being made to add the Class of 1964 and 1965 for next year...continuing the Norwalk Alumni legacy. There have been eight new sets of band uniforms since 1928. Pictures of all eight
have been added to the Gallery. All class composites and band pictures are available for $20 each. The Norwalk High School student newspaper issues (for many years called the SIGNAL but now called THE TRUCKER IMPRINT), including all but the last few years, are available on microfiche at the Norwalk Public Library. Please consider sending the alumni association original issues and any other memorabilia you may wish to share for the archives. Update on the Current Truckers The Norwalk Trucker Wrestlers won the Northern Ohio League Championships for the second year in a row. The tradition of wrestling excellence continues at the high school. The Norwalk Boys Basketball Team won the NOL Champion-
ship for the first time since the 1961-1962 season. The Northern Ohio League will be undergoing some major changes this next school year. Galion, Upper Sandusky and Fostoria have withdrawn from the League. Sandusky High
School will be the newest member to the NOL, considered to be the oldest established athletic league in the State of Ohio.

Endowment Fund Update The Endowment Fund for the Norwalk City Schools was formed to provide a source of funding for non-required school programs and faculty grants. In 2010, the endowment fund awarded 27 scholarships totaling $35,500 to graduating seniors from Norwalk High School. There are various ways to donate to the fund, including the creation of a scholarship to commemorate a particular class. (A Class of 1959 scholarship is awarded annually.) More information

The Norwalk Academic Boosters are proud to help sponsor three breakfasts throughout the school year for those students who carry a 3.2 or higher grade point average. Students receive awards from the organization at these breakfasts. The organization also provides academic letters, pins and other awards to honor student at the Underclass-

The organization also awards two $500 scholarships to two senior students whose parents have been members of the organization for four consecutive years. Any monetary amount that an alumni would like to contribute to help the academic booster organization would be greatly appreciated.
More Booster Information The Norwalk Athletic Boosters are continuing to raise money to expand the current weight room. The organization has committed $100,000 to the project. More information about the weight room is available on the district website. www.norwalk-city.k12.oh.us

The Norwalk Music Boosters are a group of parents, alumni, and friends that support the music programs in the Norwalk Schools. The largest endeavor is to help run the two week band camp for the Norwalk Trucker’s Blue Pride Marching Band. In addition,
the band plays in competition, parades, and other shows. The NHS Orchestra and Choirs perform throughout the year entertaining many groups. The boosters helped the select choir purchase new uniforms this past year. Christina Benz Cooperrider
