CSF Ambassador role for Adam Drury He joined the Club from Peterborough United in 2001, and soon caught the eye with his performances at left-back. Voted player of the season for 2002-03, he was swiftly appointed captain by boss Nigel Worthington. His first season as captain saw him lead Norwich City to the Nationwide First Division title and promotion to the top flight. In 2012, following over ten years loyal service, he was inducted into the club’s Hall of Fame.

Former Canaries’ captain Adam Drury has been unveiled as Norwich City Community Sports Foundation’s newest ambassador.

“Adam was an ambassador for Norwich City both on and off the field during his playing days,” said CSF Director Ian Thornton.

The 36-year-old, who recently announced his retirement from the game, is a special guest at today’s game and will be officially introduced to the crowd in his new role before kick-off.

“He wanted to stay involved with the Club, and in his role as a CSF ambassador, he will help us continue to inspire and change lives in the local community.”

A firm favourite in his playing days, Drury amassed 361 appearances for Norwich City.

Three Lions call-up for Norwich girls Two girls from Norwich City’s centre of excellence squad were selected to represent England Under-17s this month.

Phillippa White and Flo Allen, both 15, trained with the England squad at St George’s Park, the national centre for English football. Allen then went on to represent England in a behind closed doors fixture against Germany. A third Centre of Excellence participant Katy Leigh was selected as a stand-by. Whilst Flo Allen has represented England Under-15s and Under-17s before, it was the first call up for Phillippa White, a student at Framlingham Earl High. The England Under-17 team are in the process of qualifying for the Euro Championships in Iceland and have already seen off Moldovia, Bulgaria and Russia in qualifying. 01603 761122 info@communitysportsfoundation.org.uk

CSF girls and womens’ coordinator and under-17 centre of excellence manager Sian Wager said: “To have representation at national level for our centre of excellence programme is fantastic.” “The girls have worked extremely hard and it’s great to see that hardwork rewarded.” www.communitysportsfoundation.org.uk @norwichcityCSF www.facebook.com/communitysportsfoundation
