FOUNDATION PARTNERS WITH LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL
T
he Community Sports Foundation (CSF) recently welcomed Stalham High School as their latest partner school and ‘Community Hub’.
Following the launch ceremony, Stalham High School headteacher Amy Webb said: “We pride ourselves on being a learning community and recognise that not all learning is academic; the rich variety of additional opportunities available to our students helps them get the most out of their time at school and we are delighted that the partnership with CSF will strengthen our provision further.”
Special guest Ryan Walsh - who recently claimed the British boxing Featherweight title and is a CSF ambassador - joined staff and pupils at the school to mark the occasion earlier this month. The partnership will see a variety of programmes and community schemes delivered at the North Norfolk high school by the Foundation.
A signed shirt was presented to the school by Ryan Walsh on behalf of CSF and Canaries tickets were given to the Year 11 student-led football team as a reward for their outstanding performances.
These include Premier League 4 Sport, which provides weekly sports activities and education workshops, plus the PL Enterprise programme which develops students' business skills using Norwich City Football Club as an engagement tool.
Stalham High School becomes the ninth CSF Hub to be launched in Norfolk and the second this year after Ormiston Academy was launched by Norwich City FC Chief Executive David McNally in February.
JOIN THE FUN AT SOCCER SCHOOLS
S
occer Schools are back this October half-term and there is still time to book your child’s place at certain venues.
Run by the Foundation, the hugely popular Soccer Schools cater for all abilities, whether your son or daughter is a budding Canary superstar or new to football. The emphasis is on fun! Locations in Norwich and Beccles are sold out, but there are late spaces available in the Gorleston, Stalham, North Walsham, Attleborough and Dereham Soccer Schools.
Booked in for October already? It’s not too late to start thinking about Christmas and as ever CSF’s special one-day Soccer Schools will be running over the festive period. This year CSF has extended their offering and there’ll be Soccer Schools from the 19th -22nd of December. The fun will take place at Carrow Park and in Norwich City FC’s indoor training dome at Colney. Book online at communitysportsfoundation.org.uk or by calling the Foundation office on 01603 761 122.
