“I will never forget the amazing experience we all got given... had so much fun with everyone and met loads of new people”

(cont.) The group also took part in

a 5,000 Step Challenge, tackling the heights of Carrow Road’s Jarrold Stand, in aid of the Community Sports Foundation’s Sporting Light Appeal. Working in relay teams, the young climbers completed the challenge in just over five hours with each participant stepping the equivalent of an exhausting two-and-a-half miles. The campers finished their week with a two-night residential stay at Kingswood Activity Centre Overstrand Hall on the North Norfolk coast. The children enjoyed a host of outdoor activities including high ropes, outdoor laser tag and aeroball, plus beach excursions and evening campfires.

Over six days, 85% of the group, lost or maintained weight with an average weight loss of 1.3kg. Although this is a successful result for the short-term, we will continue to work with the group over the new twelve months and look forward to being able to support their progress long-term. As a reward for their efforts and for completing the Fit4it Summer Camp, the group will be invited to a special celebration evening for an award presentation at the Top of the Terrace lounge in Carrow Road.

The Fit4it Summer camp was aimed at participants aged 12 to 16 year olds who struggled to control or maintain a healthy weight. The camp was free for the participants, with funding provided by Norfolk County Council and the Premier League.

Meet our Fit4it Ambassadors As a result of the Fit4it Summer Camp, we have selected two young people to become our Fit4it Ambassadors. Excellent representatives of the Fit4it programme, Luke David and Rhiannon McDonald, both aged 13, will help promote the programme to others. Both Luke and Rhiannon adopted the key

messages of Fit4it and played a vital role within the Summer Camp group. They have gone above and beyond achieving their own personal goals and also in encouraging others to reach theirs.

others who take part in the programme. Luke and Rhiannon have been an inspiration to others on the Fit4it Summer Camp programme and we look forward to working with them over the next twelve months.

Part of the role of the Fit4it ambassadors will be to promote the Fit4it programme within their community and schools and to support

Junior Camp coming this February! Following the success of the Fit4it Summer Camp, in February 2015 we will be launching our first ever junior version of the camp.

The Junior Camp will be free, subject to a £20 retainer fee. Places will be limited to 65 only and we anticipate these to fill up quickly.

Taking place over the February half term, the Fit4it Junior Camp will include three days at Carrow Road where the group will take part in health and goal setting workshops and a range of different team building and sporting activities. This will be followed by a one night residential at Kingswood West Runton Activity Centre. The group will then be invited back for week 5, week 10, 9 month and 12 month follow-up sessions.
