Your Norwich: Community
Back to school Graham Dorrans and Alex Pritchard went back to school last week, dropping in at two local primary schools that work with the Norwich City Community Sports Foundation (CSF).
Following training on Tuesday, Graham Dorrans visited Great Witchingham Primary Academy, while on Wednesday, Alex Pritchard spent an afternoon at Sparhawk Infant and Nursery School in Norwich. Both players got involved in PE lessons, before giving the students an insight into their lives as a professional footballer in Q&A sessions. Speaking to Norwich City TV while at the school, Dorrans said: “It’s been good to come along and talk to the kids. I’ve been going around the classrooms speaking to them and watching them do some training outside. You see how excited they are when someone comes in from their local club so it’s really nice. “This is part of what we do as footballers, coming out to speak
to the kids. It’s great to be helping them in these sessions and you can see how much enjoyment they get from it. Norwich is their local club so someone coming along from there is great for them.” Each week, the Foundation delivers PE lessons to 65 schools in the region, with over 10,000 pupils aged 5-11 years-old participating in those sessions. They also provide over 100 extracurricular clubs a week to give pupils the opportunity of additional sporting activities after school finishes.
