Darren ran the race just 7 weeks after
darren hoadley
suffering a traumatic amputation of his left arm, following an accident
at work. Together with his wife Sue, they have run the race nearly every single year, and he wanted to run again this year, despite the circumstances. He ran the
race just one-minute and 30 seconds slower than last year.
Despite her cerebral palsy, Sandra
sandra acton
completed her second Run Norwich 10k this year. A two-time last placed finished, Sandra has proved that finish times don’t matter and the challenges life presents can be overcome – she

a cardiac arrest on Rampant House Street at last year’s race. Spectator Dale Gedge, an off-duty paramedic, was first on the scene when he collapsed and was performing CPR within 30 seconds as event medics arrived with a defibrillator. Following a lengthy recovery process, he put a difficult
year behind him, and completed this year’s race. Running by his side was Dale and his cardiologist Dr Ian Williams.
scott vallance
Scott was one of four blind runners who ran the race this year. He decided to run after a few years of being a spectator, and to celebrate the fact he turned 50th this year. Despite never having run
before, he put in months of training.
Together with his support team, he completed the race in 1:43.07.
