A Letter From the President Dear Norwood-Fontbonne Academy Community, As I reflect on the 2018-2019 academic year, I am filled with joy, enthusiasm, and most of all gratitude. I am most grateful to the Sisters of Saint Joseph for their wisdom, guidance and collaboration as we partner together as the community of Norwood-Fontbonne Academy. We have accomplished much at NFA—grade five and six renovations, campus-wide security enhancements, and improved outdoor spaces, to name a few. The past year has been exciting and full of growth, and one of our most comprehensive initiatives has been Strategic Planning for the academy. As we prepare for growth and improvement for the next five years, we always keep our goals grounded and aligned with our mission. Our completed plan will be affirmed and implementation will begin in January 2020. Please look for future communications and opportunities for each of you to support this initiative. All of our work continues to be aligned with our goal to further the mission of the Sisters of Saint Joseph, that “We live and work so that all may be united with God and One another.” As we sit on the threshold of our centennial year, I remain excited for our next 100 years, humbled and blessed to serve this incredible community. In Christ’s Peace,
Ryan

A Letter From Institutional Advancement Dear Parents, Students, Alumni, and Friends of Norwood-Fontbonne Academy, It is a great honor to join such a vibrant and distinguished school. I am pleased to be working with such a dedicated administration, faculty, and staff. The school’s outstanding reputation throughout the Delaware Valley made my decision to join this community an easy one. I want to thank Dr. Killeen and the members of the administration and staff who have met with me thus far. Their hospitality has been extraordinary, and I already feel part of the NFA family. I look forward to meeting many of you, as we all work together to fulfill the mission of NFA and the Sisters of Saint Joseph to unite all people with God and one another. None of the outstanding accomplishments that we come to expect from the students of NorwoodFontbonne Academy would be possible without the generosity of our many benefactors across the nation and around the world. We are fortunate to have an extensive network of supporters: parents, staff, alumni, parents of alumni, and friends. Together, we will collaborate to help NFA reach even greater heights as our school celebrates its centennial with an eye towards an exciting future.
Sincerely yours,
Angelo

A Letter From Development
Dear Families, Faculty and Staff, Alumni, and Friends, It seems like just yesterday that I was launching my first Annual Appeal and now four years later we’ve begin our 99th year. I’m delighted to continue in a new role that allows to me to balance my personal life with my passion for NFA’s mission advancement. A word comes to mind as I look back upon these four years: grateful. I am grateful for the opportunity to be hired by S. Jean Laurich, SSJ, in 2005 as assistant in the Campus Ministry Office. I am grateful for the opportunity to launch NFA’s Communications Office in 2011—learning all things social media, marketing, and photography, as I helped convey the extraordinary NFA story to the wider community. I am grateful for the opportunity of the past four years to lead our Advancement efforts which included raising record dollars for NFA through the Annual Fund, the PA Tax Credit (EITC/OSTC), grants and special events. I am grateful to the colleagues who have supported my every effort as well as to those whose shoulders I stand upon—you know who you are! Indeed, many hands make light work and it is no different in development. Judy Lloyd and Mirusia Cohen were tremendous as our co-chairs of the Annual Fund last year. For the second consecutive year, we surpassed $200K in the Fund—a significant portion being raised by our current parents. I am most grateful for their leadership and creativity as well as the diligent work of our army of Class Representatives who all contributed to our success.
Terri Hutsell (center), with Judy Lloyd and Mirusia Cohen, Annual Fund co-chairs for the past two years
Our NFA Parents’ Association (NFAPA) knows no boundaries when it comes to supporting every aspect of NFA. I am grateful for the leadership of Katie Ciolko and Melanie Zamichieli, co-presidents last year, as they guided the efforts of the NFAPA in collaboration with administration and staff. Always, we are deeply grateful for the creative initiatives, hard work, and generous financial support of the NFAPA. Finally, I am grateful to begin my 15th year at NFA in a part time role as Associate Director of Donor and Community Relations. I am excited to work with Angelo Milicia, our new Director of Institutional Advancement, and collaborating with the entire Advancement team and NFA community. We journey ever closer to our centennial year (2020-2021), and I hope you’ll join me for wonderful events celebrating this significant time in our NFA history. Thank you, parents, staff, alumni, and friends for all you do to support NFA’s Mission as together we further the presence, love, and charism of the Sisters of Saint Joseph. With gratitude,
Terri
