Call for delegates to Thessaloniki International Forum The European Youth Parliament (EYP) Sweden is now thrilled to launch the call for six spots for delegates to the Thessaloniki International Forum. The session will take place in Thessaloniki, Greece from the 10th to 18th of August 2014. 168 delegates from all over Europe will gather in the Greek summer heat to discuss and debate European issues, exchange ideas, learn, meet new people and create memories for life. Thessaloniki is the second largest city in Greece with a metropolitan area that is estimated to have a population of over 1.1 million. Its history as a city spans over 23 centuries whilst it is not only a meeting point for the gathering and interaction of different cultures, but also the main port of the Balkans and the crossroads between the Mediterranean Sea and South-eastern Europe. The city has the privilege of a great historical past, which is reflected onto the bustling, energetic, and creative everyday life of a big young population generated through universities and other educational institutions. Wherever you look, you can detect evidence of its ancient character, its past blending beautifully with its present. The participation fee for delegates is set at 80 euros and will cover all accommodation, food and transportation expenses for the duration of the session. Travel expenses to and from Thessaloniki are not covered in the participation fee. We are now looking for 6 exceptional, engaged, enthusiastic and competent members to join the Swedish delegation going to Thessaloniki. These members have contributed to the work of EYP Sweden in the past or plan to do so after their attendance in Thessaloniki. The participation fee of 80 Euros will not be covered for by EYP Sweden. The same goes for travel expenses to and from the session. If you are interested in taking part, contact hugo.durr@eup.se with an attached document
of maximum 450 words outlining your motivation to attend, your previous attendance or work in EYP Sweden and your plans to further make use of your experiences within the organisation. The letter can be written in either Swedish or English. Deadline to submit your application is Saturday the 19th of July. All applicants will be informed individually on the outcome of the selection. Good luck!
