the invitation suite
the venue M E R I S COT T & DAV I D W I L L W E D AT T H E Merrimon-Wynne House, which is located in the heart of historic downtown Raleigh, North Carolina, only a few doors away from the Governor’s Mansion. The two-story Italianate-style frame home, built in 1876, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. A hall next to the home provides a separate ceremony and reception space for weddings, and outdoor ceremonies are held on the grounds. The Carriage House is a light and airy open space with a wall of windows, white walls and a white open-beamed vaulted ceiling adorned by two chandeliers. The hall is a blank canvas, which makes it an ideal location. The lawn in front of the Carriage House will be the location for the dinner portion of the wedding reception. The grounds feature colorful landscaping and beautiful trees, ideal for wedding photo backdrops. Like the reception hall, the area accommodates over 200 guests.
bridesmaid dresses M E R I S COT T ’ S B R I DA L AT T E N DA N T S W I L L wear stunning floor-length gowns in silver with an A-line cut in elegant chiffon. The ladies will wear different neckline cuts of the same dress line for an extra flair.
bridal party bouquets M E R I S COT T ’ S B R I DA L AT T E N DA N T S W I L L carry a similar bouquet to the bridal bouquet; smaller in size with heavier greenery and wrapped with ivory satin ribbon. This will feature mint, gray and white hues.

in shape with texture and pops of greenery, using lush spring blooms in shades of white and ivory with additional pops of grey and green. It will be wrapped with ivory satin ribbon and will feature mint, gray and white hues.
boutonnières DAVID AND HIS GROOMSMEN WILL WEAR simple white bloom boutonnières with a bit of greenery. David’s will be tied with ivory silk ribbon, and the groomsmen’s tied with grey velvet ribbons.
ceremony layout
ceremony decor MERI SCOTT & DAVID WILL EXCHANGE VOWS UNDER AN ARCHED ARBOR WITH HEAVY greenery and white and cream blooms. It will have a garden inspired design and a luxurious dripping effect. The arch will be surrounded by hurricanes and silver lanterns with loose greenery and blooms. This area will serve as the wedding cake backdrop during the reception. Meri Scott will walk down an aisle adorned with heavy petals lining each side. Clusters of varied height hurricanes with floating candles will line each side of the aisle as well. The guestbook table will be inside the home and feature a low arrangement in a mercury glass compote with spilling blooms and greenery.

cocktail hour & home decor T H E R E W I L L B E 9 COC K TA I L TA B L E S T H R O U G H OUT THE HOME & EACH WILL HAVE A BUD vase and mercury glass votives. There will be 3 bistro tables on the side porch. Each will also have a bud vase and mercury glass votives. The lounge area inside the home will have mixed mercury glass votives on the coffee table votives. The four mantles inside the home will feature floating candles in hurricanes paired with mercury glass votives. The grand staircase inside MWH will be graced with a lush greenery swag at the base of the banister, paired with hurricanes filled with floating candles placed up the steps for an elegant first impression.
tall center pieces F O R A L L O F T H E R O U N D G U E S T TA B L E S O N the lawn, a tall centerpiece on a silver base with heavy greenery and lush white blooms will be the focal point. Each will be surrounded by varied heights of floating candles in hurricanes and mercury glass votives.
low centerpieces F O R T H E L O N G ( 3 2 F T. ) G U E S T TA B L E S , L U S H GREENERY WILL FALL TO THE FLOOR ON each end with white and cream blooms tucked into the garlands. They will be lined with floating candles in hurricanes and mercury glass votives. The other long guest tables (16 ft.) will feature lush greenery garland with tails to the floor on each end, also with white and cream blooms tucked into the garlands and lined with floating candles in hurricanes & mercury glass votives. For the round seating tables inside the carriage house, we will use re-purposed hurricanes/lanterns from the aisle and re-purposed bridesmaid bouquets.
custom bar THERE WILL BE A LARGE WHITE BAR ON THE lawn for the reception. It will be decorated with varied height pillars and floating candles on each side with a few mercury glass votives and bud vases.
sweetheart table M E R I S COT T & DAV I D W I L L S I T AT A sweetheart table with chair swags with greenery and blooms.
floral/greenery chandelier AN AWE-INSPIRING, 6-FOOT IN DIAMETER greenery and floral installation will be hung centered in the carriage house. It will have heavy white and cream blooms, lush greenery and hanging votive candles to add a romantic ambiance.
wedding cake THE WEDDING CAKE WILL BE MADE UP OF 5”, 8”, 11” & 14” ROUND TIERS, FROSTED IN PALE ivory buttercream. The naked cake will have light frosting but enough cake showing to have it look ‘naked’. The cake will have two tiers of smooth buttercream and no designs on cake.
signage TO TIE IN THE MUTED GRAY TONES & TO PULL OUT THE WHITE BALANCE, WE WILL have a mixture of clear acrylic, gray and white signage with a gray, elegant font.
