Bamboo Propagation
Learn how to collect propagules and prepare planting materials ready to plant in the field This is one of the most important learning to help stabilize supply for future use and Bamboo Utilization.
Bamboo Clump Management
To secure Bamboo supply immediately means learning how to care for existing clumps available now and how to manage these existing clumps to be more productive
Bamboo Harvest Techniques
The fastest way to lose a Bamboo Clump is our common practices of incorrectly harvesting an existing clump. Learn how to identify pole age, and how to properly harvest poles for maximum efficiency & use
Bamboo Treatment & Preservation
Bamboo got its bad rep from BokBok We teach 9 methods for Bamboo Preservation. Treatment is what gives bamboo a lifecycle of upwards of 30 years. This is one of the most important modules to learn.
Bamboo Design
Using Bamboo Sticks, you will learn how to design without having to be a designer or an architect. You can turn imagination into reality and see your structure come to life.

Workshop Goals
Bamboo Tools
Use a wide array of tools you can use for Bamboo We also teach you how to use common hand tools for this module but learn how to speed up the process with these.
Bamboo Joinery Techniques
How do we join bamboo together to keep it strong, to lengthen its span and to take full advantage of the strength of each pole? We teach you the most common and effective ways to do just that.
Engineered Bamboo
How do we get Bamboo, a round shaped piece of timber to act like our most common building materials. We show laminating techniques to mold bamboo into solid forms for use in furniture, floors and walls
Furniture Protoype
You will get to see through a furniture prototype from concept to prototype. You will be able to participate in creating a complete furniture from start to finish.
Bamboo Construction
The Big Kahuna of this workshop is to be able to build a skeleton of a structure and see it from scale model to actual build. You will learn construction sequence and practices.

Hayag Farm School is located in Sitio Puting Bato, Brgy Baganihan, Marilog District, Davao City. It is still part of Davao del Sur, right at the border of Davao and Bukidnon. The Matigsalog Hall is our main workshop venue, The Bellflower Pavillion is where we will dine and There are 3 Dorm Villas for Accommodations. We have a 180 degree view of Kwagsik Falls.

90 Kms from Davao Intl. Airport via Buda Highway
Elevation: 1300 - 1500 meters above Sea Level
Weather : Typically in Feb scattered showers, Cloudy, Fog can come in anytime, It can get hot as well. Dress accordingly Suggestion : Dry fit / Fast Drying clothes and towels, Waterproof shoes
Terrain : Forest, rocky slopes with limestones, rocks & clay
Waste Management
There is no available waste management systems implemented in the area at the moment Our sewage system is a reed bed system and we use our own sewage filtration system. Absolutely no flushing of paper in the toilet. All rubbish must be disposed properly
Mobile Coverage
Only Smart has signal in the area Suggest you purchase a prepaid sim card for smart and top up prior to arriving with Magic Data and Unli calls/Text Signal may also waver at times.
Laundry Service
We will collect laundry on Day 4 of the workshop - 2 Days Service. Laundry will arrive back on Day 6

Welcome to Bamboo Bootcamp
The vision for every Bamboo Bootcamp is to have an enjoyable holistic learning experience where we discover a magnitude of things about Bamboo, The Environment, Biodiversity and self. In order for this to happen, we have taken care of things on our side, but this is not a one way street, you too have to contribute as you came here with the same vision in mind. Be open to learn new things and share your ideas freely.
This is an exclusive and private event. It is not open to the general public,Only invited guests or pre-approved visitors are allowed to enter our bubble during the next 10 days. Everyone has been tested to ensure we are safe from COVID-19. All your basic meals will be served, however, the restaurant and sundry store is open, If you wish to order food aside from what is provided or buy your own personal needs, you may do so at your own expense, just ask the service crew.
A negative COVID Antigen test result, taken no longer than 24 hours prior to arrival AND proof of vaccination is required upon check in

Safety protocols
- Always have your PPEs, wear the right outfit depending on weather conditions, always wear footwear to prevent from slips & falls, HYDRATE! You are in charge of your own health, please do only what you can! Make sure you have your meds with you and take them as advised by your physician

Wash hands, keep your distance, let us know if you are experiencing any symptoms

Electricity and Water
We are 100% Off Grid and runs on solar power, We also have a water reservoir, we may experience unstable water flow throughout the duration of the bootcamp We have to manage our energy consumption as well as water use Shut off & Unplug everything when not in use, minimize energy and water use - this will affect everyone. Only turn on necessary light. If you have a flashlight, please bring them always at night
Waste Management
Designated trash bins, area, Absolutely no toilet papers in the flush
Safety
All our structures and ourselves must be protected from Accidents caused by Water, Fire, Insects and Allergens.

HOUSE RULES
INSIDE THE VILLAS
You are living in a Bamboo House, Please protect the Bamboo from water, fire and insects. Also, we are in the forest so there will be living organisms throughout such as bugs, mosquitos, insects, animals (dogs, cats, chicken and rodents) - let us prevent from attracting them
FOOD and DRINK
Eating is allowed only outside the villas and dispose of your food in the waste bins provided. Only water is allowed inside the villas and use of your own water bottles This is to avoid, ants, insects and rodents to get in Animals go where there is food for them to eat.
SHOES OFF INSIDE THE VILLAS
Our floors are made with Engineered Bamboo or Hard Wood, We need to protect them from harmful substances such as water and mud Please wear your inside slippers only in the villas Shoe racks are provided outside
DO NOT FEED THE ANIMALS - THEY WILL KEEP COMING BACK FOR MORE

The sundries shop will have some items available for sale. Please check the list inside your villa to see available items. Just approach our admin for items you wish to purchase. We will also have a scheduled market run, for any special items you may need, we can purchase requested items during this time.
