RARE MAP AND BOOK SHOP For this design project students were given a site, program, and kit of parts we could use for additional objects, structure, and mechanical feautures to design the book shop. The concept for the Book and Map Shop was to create a central space that customers would be forced to travel through as they move from floor to floor. This space would slow down the travel speed and force interaction between customers.

BOSTON CENTER FOR ADULT EDUCATION For this project students were given a site in Beacon Hill, Boston, MA. We analyzed the site in order to create our design of the education center. The analysis of the site showed traffic patterns, materials of surrounding buildings, heights of older and modern building surrounding the site, and other information for designing our buildings. The goal of this building is to create an intimate space that is still accessible to the traffic in the area. The space is wrapped by the Education Center, creating a courtyard area that is not completely surrounded. The site mimics other buildings and spaces in the proximity that had a green area or courtyard surrounded by buildings. There is a T stop in the area which was used as an axis for the way the intimate space was facing and how it was wrapped by the building.

CHESTNUT HILL RESEVOIR EDUCATION CENTER The task is to create an educational center at Chestnut Hill Reservation in Boston, MA. Site analysis was done to become accustom with the site before designing the educational center. The goal for this center is to have the entire site utilized by way of soft and hard boundaries that guide users throughout the site and program. The site consists of four buildings, pathways, resting spaces, and viewing platforms among other program pieces.
