The problem with paper is not with paper itself but rather in how we’ve evolved to see it and use it.

REUSE REDUCE RECYCLE: • Recycling is simply not enough. We must start reusing used paper and reducing our paper consumption. • Taking Recycling one step further, to connect with nature and to change our perspective on the value of paper.
SOLUTION
In order to minimize the negative environmental impacts due to the paper industry, we have created a product: Ecologic. It is an A6 sized 50 leaf notepad of seed paper, all handmade.

As young people ourselves, we have an advantage as we have fairly good grasp on what our peers want, and can readily ask them about their preferences.

It will take approximately 10-15 minutes to make 1 notepad. (exc. drying time)
COSTS AND REVENUE Our fixed costs are relatively low which shows the financial viability of ecologic. We expect that as we produce larger quantities, our variable costs could fall as we can buy materials in bulk. We will break even after selling 100 notepads. We will charge $12 per notepad: $12 - $3 costs = $9 revenue per notepad.
SCALABILITY: ECOLOGIC has immense potential to expand. There are many other facets of the stationery market which we can tap into, as well as opportunities for forming partnerships with existing businesses. Our online presence will allow us to connect with customers around the globe.
