I first joined NPower back in 2017 with the ninth class of Tech Fundamentals in the Dallas, Texas region. I graduated from that class and received my CompTIA A+ certification. Subsequently, I joined the 2018 Cybersecurity class at NPower and graduated with my CompTIA CySA+ certification. After working for several companies in cybersecurity, I was accepted into the AWS Cloud Practioner class at NPower and received my first AWS certificate, Cloud Practitioner. I then was hand selected for the advanced training cloud solutions architect program and graduated with my second AWS certification, Solutions Architect – Associate, with the help of NPower. Hi my name is Joel Hardamon, I am currently 24 years old from Brooklyn NY. Before NPower I was unemployed and looking for work. I started teaching myself some material about cloud computing, Linux, and was refreshing my knowledge of the basics of Python when I stumbled upon this program. It was everything I could have wanted. I learned the basics of how computers work, networking, security, and so many terms that my head could explode, but it was fun. I met a lot of cool people with similar interests, and I could not be happier with this decision. Hello, I am Bruce Maxwell from California. The previous class that I attended for NPower was Tech Fundamentals in 2018. A fun fact for me was when I was stationed at Edwards AFB, I was able to see the Space Shuttle land for the first time after the explosion. It was such an amazing experience that I do not think I could express it completely in words.

I am David Mendez. I attended NPower 10 years ago. Chris Williams and Toshi Felton were my professors at the time and were very instrumental in getting started in my Tech Career. My most recent Job at Antares Capital was the only place I had the pleasure of working at that was 100% integrated into cloud via Microsoft Azure. I worked there for 4 years, and the most impressive feat was being able to function like nothing happened during the COVID-19 Lockdowns. Currently I have accepted a position at Oakhill Investments as a Senior L3 Cloud Technician which just so happens to be using AWS Cloud. Due to my vast knowledge of Microsoft Azure as well as my AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification, the IT Department felt confident in my knowledge and hired me full time.

Before NPower, I was working as a Network Technician for Spectrum. I have been wanting to pursue a cybersecurity career for the longest time. Thankfully NPower gave me an opportunity to start my journey and helped me get A+ and Security+ certification. NPower pushed me out of my comfort zone during the past 18 week with its advanced cyber training. Before I was enrolled into NPower’s Tech fundamentals program I was working a security guard job. I can honestly say going through NPower’s Cybersecurity program is one of the best decisions I’ve made. The professional development seminars helped me gain soft skills that I was able to apply within my personal life as well as my professional career. NPower’s ability to provide us access to be able to speak high ranking IT professionals has really been a wonderful experience and I’m grateful for every guest that took the time out to speak to our class. NPower has given me the tools and confidence that I needed to break into the IT industry and I’ve made a good amount of contacts along the way. I wanted to explore this growing curiosity of tech so I was instantly drawn to NPower and the IT field. During a time when millions were unemployed, I was lucky enough to receive a summer internship. This experience developed more than my technical skills, it helped in developing character. Thereafter, I was able to join the Cybersecurity program and learn about penetration testing. NPower has taught me that with great passion and dedication, anything can be accomplished. In the future, I would like to continue developing my penetration testing and programming skills and work as a Security Analyst.

Before starting NPower, I was in Job Corp and going to college for computer technology. I learned about NPower from my Job Corp contact after I finished my Associate Degree. Before finding out about NPower I was unable to get a technology based job. Thanks to NPower I was able to trust the process and further my career into the tech field.

AIR NATIONAL GUARD SERVED 7 YEARS

I joined the Air National Guard and worked as an Avionics technician. While in the Guard, I realized my passion for troubleshooting but still wasn’t sure of the best way to channel that passion into a career in the civilian world. It was during a presentation on a drill weekend that I met a representative for NPower who discussed the benefits of their Tech Fundamentals program. I didn’t know it at the time, but that presentation was probably one of the more pivotal points in my career and life as whole. NPower introduced me to a field where I could take the passion, skills and dedication I developed in the military and apply it to a lucrative career. Upon completion of the program, I went from being unsure of what I was going to do after separation to having an internship with a phenomenal company that I have been with for close to 6 years. Now with my most recent completion of the Cybersecurity program, I have the skills and field perspective to take my career to the next level.

LAUNCHING TECH CAREERS. TRANSFORMING LIVES. NPower’s model is a solution to building a diverse tech pipeline. Our graduates launch tech jobs with an average starting salary of $41,000–$60,000 and are positioned to advance their career path, enabling them to earn more than their peers in lower-wage jobs. Higher earning potential is the key to breaking generational cycles of poverty, positioning our students and their families to achieve long-term economic success.

WE ARE THE FUTURE OF WORK Through partner and tech industry collaboration, our free training model is a workforce development solution for the future. In today’s economy, over 50% of all jobs require some degree of technology and digital skill. We prepare untapped, diverse talent to fill the number of technology-oriented jobs that will increase in the U.S. to 13 million by 2025, according to a recent Microsoft Data Science report that estimates that digital job capacity. Our graduates of over 4,000 veterans and young adults are hired at over 2000 companies and nonprofits as interns and full-time employees.
