Class Speaker
Adjana Ramirez Baltimore Class 3, AM I knew that certification tests cost money and there were programs that would help you pay for them. But every program I found had some sort of issues either; I didn’t live in their targeted neighborhoods, or they’d pay for part of the test but not the whole thing and I’d had to figure out the studying and the rest of the cost on my own.... So I became discouraged and went back to the comfort of my job at Crate & Barrel. Only to have my aunt show up to my job one day encouraging me to consider NPower. This happened to be long after I had already stopped looking at a recent flyer about the Tech Fundamentals program. It just blew my mind.
Class Speaker
Diamond Staley Baltimore Class 3, PM After class, I went home and tried reviewing everything we went over that day. Sometimes I would think, “Maybe I should just stay home tomorrow.” It seemed so hard, but then I would take one look at my daughter and consider her future. My purpose in life is to grind so that she wants for nothing. And that’s what inspires me to make it through.

Cherese Queen Baltimore Class 2 Participating in the Tech Fundamentals program meant that I can finally have a future and a professional career and gain financial stability. My life has been transformed. I’m now working at TD Ameritrade as a Quality Assurance Engineer, learning something new every day from everyone in my office. Since graduating, I've moved into my new place with my boys and my bills are getting in order where I’m no longer living paycheck to paycheck.

Since I was five, technology and video games have been a passion. By age ten, I started working with computers. Learning about the field of technology keeps my mind challenged. After high school, I was unemployed and searching for a place to get a postsecondary education. However, I found it difficult to stay motivated after being rejected from multiple job opportunities. I came across the Tech Fundamental program and decided to join NPower. In the next five years, I see myself working as a head technician or furthering my education in the IT field. My role models are Elon Musk and Bill Gates because of their entrepreneurial spirits. When I am not focused on technology, I like to engage in gaming, movies, music, and shopping.
