Before I entered the NPower program, I was steadily searching for opportunities to work in the tech industry. I graduated from college in 2018 with a degree in cyber forensics. I thought this would be enough to secure a job, but I soon realized I was wrong. After years of sending in resumes and interviewing with potential employers, I was left emptyhanded. I was so close to giving up and settling for a non-tech job when I came across NPower. I couldn't believe I had a chance at change! I entered the program feeling skeptical, but participating in this program gave me exactly what I need to further my career. In less than four months, I obtained several certifications and nearly doubled my income! The NPower team gave me the confidence and skills needed to survive in a competitive market. I could have never done it without them!

At the time of my onboarding for NPower, I was a third-year college student working at Chick-fil-A. I had been applying to many entrylevel IT jobs and internships that would help me get into the IT field. My tight schedule of serving at church, going to college at night, and working during the day ruled out many jobs. I found out that not only did NPower work with my schedule, it was also the perfect route to my desired job field. By the end of the program, I already had multiple interviews with different companies and was presented with an opportunity to intern with Under Armour. This program was a huge blessing and I am thankful to God for the people working at NPower and their goal of getting people into the IT field.

Before NPower, I was unemployed. I struggled to find meaning in life because of many different constraints. Once I found NPower, I was able to truly discover my purpose. I learned many different things and connected with a multitude of people. Due to NPower, I have expanded my reach. I have had the pleasure of working with so many different types of people. NPower has prompted me to go back and finish school. I look forward to getting an IT degree.
Before starting NPower, I was unemployed and looking for a career with growth potential. I thought about going back to school but was uncertain about a major and was financially unstable. My best friend introduced me to NPower because she applied and got in. I decided to join to make a career move for the better. This was just the program for me because I knew my life would change in a positive manner. Between the networking, the mentorship, and the certification training, this program has been a blessing, and everything was free! I met some really nice people, and my instructor was the best, really supportive! The only thing I had to do was challenge myself and give it my best. With my new skills and my IT Fundamentals (ITF+) certification, I look forward to launching my tech career and obtaining a full-time position soon!

I enlisted in the Navy in 2000 as undesignated airman, with my high school background in electronics. In 2008, I became a cryptologic technician, and in 2009 I reported to Navy Information Operation Command (NIOC) in Maryland. I deployed twice (2010 and 2011– 2012) to Bagram, Afghanistan in support of the intelligence community. I closed my military service at the National Security Agency as a target digital network analyst, where I noticed the importance of understanding computers and metadata. NPower helped me develop a deeper understanding of IT skills critical to my transition from military life. I came into the NPower program with minimal IT skills and left with the knowledge and experience needed to begin my civilian career. I’m extremely grateful for this opportunity!

After further investigation of NPower, I discovered that the training program was exactly what I was looking for. I came into the program with some technical skills and left with an IT certification and experience to continue my IT career.

Before starting NPower, I was working as an Uber driver, spending long hours on the road and struggling to cover my expenses. I wanted to return to school but was financially unable to do so. My cousin referred me to NPower, and I decided to join to make a career move for the better. The networking, internship, mentorship, and even the certification training have been a blessing, all for free! The only thing I had to do was trust the process. With my new skills and IT Fundamentals (ITF+) certification, I look forward to launching my tech career and obtaining a full-time position after completing my internship at CoLabL.
Before NPower, I was working toward IT certifications on my own. I have been in the Army National Guard for 12 years and needed to broaden my experience in the IT field. I was introduced to NPower by a member of the team reaching out to me and explaining that they provide people with resources and training to accomplish their goals. When the program started, I was shocked at all that was available to those on this journey. They provided us with technical trainers, labs for experiments, a professional development team, books, as well as an identity and environment that was conducive to success. Since completing the NPower program and obtaining multiple certifications, I have taken steps to translate my IT skills and experience in the military into my own business venture.
