Today, 11 teams from 10 area commands are testing their mettle at Carney Park during the annual Armed Forces Olympics. MWR has been putting on this competition in Naples for 19 consecutive years now. That’s tremendous dedication to our service members and I want to express my sincere appreciation to the MWR team for its continued support. Active duty service members are competing in a variety of events including a 10K run, scavenger hunt, golf, archery, truck pull, tug-of-war and obstacle course. Please try to make it over to the park and cheer on your command. This event is important to our active duty members because it fosters command pride and camaraderie. I hear the hospital has two teams, and NSA Naples Security will be out in full force. I’m also told that the Army Element from JFC, among many others, is making a run for the gold. This is a great way to have fun together. I wish all of our teams the best of luck!

One issue that divides a unit by degrading cohesion and trust in the ranks is sexual assault. We’ve heard a lot about this in the media lately as well as during last month’s focus on the issue, so I won’t belabor the point. Our entire DoD organization – service members, civilians, Italian employees, and contractors – must combine efforts to confront this issue. A team from U.S. Fleet Forces Command is scheduled to hold several training seminars here in Naples next week to help us discuss how. Here is a quick rundown of the schedule: • Monday, May 20: Training session for leadership (i.e., CO, XO, OIC, CMC, SEL) in the Capo Food Court from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

• Monday, May 20: Training session for front line supervisors (i.e., E5-E9 and O1-O4) in the Capo theater from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

• Tuesday, May 21: Training session for program managers (i.e., Sexual Assault Prevention and Response team members, and Suicide Prevention coordinators) in the Capo Food Court from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

• Tuesday, May 21: Session for all hands in the Capo theater from 2 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. Everyone should definitely try to attend this event because it will feature comedian Bernie McGrenahan’s live routine called “Comedy is the Cure.” The details are in Base Notes on the next page.

Weekly Crime Report Review what happened between May 11 and May 17.

According to a DoD report recently released, actual reports of sexual assault to Sexual Assault Response Coordinators (SARCs) and commanders increased in fiscal year 2012 from the previous year by 6 percent. This increase is welcome news because sexual assault is traditionally a drastically under-reported crime. DoD statistics show that more men are reporting, and there is a notable increase in reported incidents that occurred in past years. These increases indicate that more of us are becoming aware of what is or is not the acceptable standard of behavior. Still, the annual report highlights that we can all do more. Each of us can contribute to a command climate in which every member of the team is treated professionally and with respect. And each of us can intervene when there is cause for concern. Remember,

Capt. Scott Gray, NSA Naples Commanding Officer. (File photo) an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Take an active role and intervene to help a shipmate. We need to work together to eliminate sexual assault in the military. This is an important issue and we can do better.

Next week’s training will also touch on suicide prevention, which is another area of serious concern. We all lead very busy and active lives.

And serving overseas can often exacerbate some of the issues that commonly cause us stress like the death of a family member or close relative, personal financial difficulties, relationship problems, and loneliness. I urge anyone contemplating suicide to reach out for help. We have an outstanding cadre of professionals here to help and provide confidential support including Fleet and Family Support Center counselors, chaplains, and Naval Hospital behavioral health professionals. I also implore everyone to continue looking out for one another.

Please plan to take time to attend at least one of the sessions on the schedule. In order for us to work together on these issues, we all need a common understanding. Be part of the solution.

Sabrina M. Pullido, area director for USO Naples and USO Rome, was sitting in her seat at the TellUSO Awards ceremony at the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville, Tenn. She had already accepted the award for the ‘Top USO Center in Europe’ on behalf of USO Naples and the ‘Top Small USO Center in Europe’ on behalf of USO Rome. She was feeling excited and proud of the accomplishments of the two centers.

The awards ceremony was coming to a close. There was one award left to be announced, the ‘Top Overall USO Center,’ the

Capo Smoke Pit Closure Effective May 13, the smoking area across from the C4I building dumpsters and adjacent to Capo’s Admin III (Building 442B) is closed. New iPhone App for Disaster Preparedness Community members can now download a free Navy Family Accountability and Assessment System (NFAAS) app from the Apple App Store on their iPhone. The new smartphone application includes information on disaster resources, weather and customized emergency kits based on a person’s location and family composition. The app also links to the NFAAS mobile website. To access the NFAAS mobile web application, go to https://navyfamily.navy.mil from your mobile device.

The Android version of the NFAAS app is expected soon.

Carney Park Lodging Now Available for Festa Americana All cabins, yurts, and tent sites are open for reservations during Festa Americana (NSA Naples’ Fourth of July celebration). This year's event will be held Saturday, June 29 and reservations must be made for at least two nights (i.e., Friday and Saturday). No drawing will be held for this year's event and accommodations are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. A one-night deposit must be made for all reservations. Reminder: Delamping Lights at Capo to Save Energy Public Works Department Naples will soon begin delamping select exterior light fixtures at Capo to save energy.

Utility costs account for one-fourth of NSA Naples’ operating budget. This project is expected to produce a cost savings of nearly $10,000 annually. If you notice that a light fixture that is out, please check the light post for a sticker that says, “This fixture has been delamped to SAVE ENERGY,” before reporting it to Public Works. June 5/7/10/11: Naples Tiger Sharks Summer Swim Program and Team Evaluations Naples Tiger Sharks will hold a summer swim program and swim team evaluations during the first two weeks of June at Capo’s indoor Fit Zone pool.

Evaluations will take place on June 5, 7, 10 and 11. Children of U.S. military, civilian and NATO ID cardholders are eligible to participate. Swimmers 12 years old and under must demonstrate basic swim stroke skills and be able to swim two of the four competitive strokes for 50 meters without stopping.

Survey Shows Venice has Highest Hotel Rates A recent survey showed Venice to be the most expensive city for tourists to spend a night in Europe. An average room rates in May went up 38 percent, which is more than three times the 12 percent increase recorded across Europe. An average hotel room costs 281 euro beating out Geneva, London, Stockholm and Paris. Even room rates in Florence went up by 20 percent with an average room cost of 165 euro per night.

Room’s rate went up also in Bologna and Naples. The only Italian city whose rates dropped in May was Milan, with an average room rate of 145 euro per night.

248 Italian Beaches Receive Blue Flag Award The International Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) released the number of Italian beaches to be awarded the prestigious Blue Flag award for clean water and pristine sand. Blue Flag has worked with the United Nations’ Environment Program and analyzed beaches and marinas worldwide since 1987 to monitor quality and cleanliness on water, environmental education and management, safety and services. This year, there were four additional seaside resorts awarded than last year for a total of 248 top beaches. This year there

were resorts in Carrara in Tuscany, Francavilla al mare in Abruzzo and a lake beach resort in Levico Terme, in the Trentino-Alto Adige region.

The northwest coastal region of Liguria region has 20 of the cleanest beaches in Italy, followed by the Marche region with 18 and Tuscany with 17. Sardinia is known worldwide for its crystal waters and luxury Emerald Coast resorts, received an added Blue Flag for a total of seven while Sicily lost one, for a total of four Blue Flag beaches.

Property Confiscated from Mafia Goes to Church The Mayor of Palermo signed an authorization to hand over the property confiscated from the Sicilian Mafia to the church of the murdered anti-mafia priest Father Giuseppe Puglisi, who was killed by the mafia in 1993 on his 56th birthday in a neighborhood in Palermo. The church will use the property, which was confiscated in 1995, as a place for socializing and gathering for the entire neighborhood. Father Puglisi’s process of beatification is underway.

Rainbow Magic Land Opens Pope Exhibition Rainbow Magic Land is an amusement park inaugurated in 2011 in Valmontone, 45 kilometers (30 miles) from Rome. May 18 - 22, for probably the first time in the world,

the park hosts an exhibition on a pope. May 18 would have been John Paul II’s birthday and the park will pay homage to his vitality and his capacity to embrace suffering, but also moments of joy and healthy amusement. The exhibition “To the Altar of God” includes photographs, videos and audio fragments of Pope John Paul II’s most famous addresses. The exhibition is hosted in the Park at the Planetarium 4D adjacent to the Castle of Alfea.

‘Eyes on Saturn’ Event Hosted in 18 Italian Regions The Italian Astronomical Society, the National Institute of Astrophysics, the Italian Space Agency, and the Italian Union of Amateur Astronomers invite everyone to the second edition of the national astronomical evening called "Eyes on Saturn", which will take place in 18 Italian regions. The event will focus on the observation of the planet Saturn with its rings and moons. In Campania region, the event will take place in the municipality of Agerola, 35 km southeast of Naples on Saturday, May 18 at 8:30 p.m. The evening is open to the public with free entry. NATO Field Gun Team Prepares for UK Competition

The JFC Naples Field Gun Team made last minute preparations at various venues through Naples, Italy last week in advance of the Royal Navy Royal Marines Field Gun Competition in the United Kingdom next month.

Military personnel and their dependents had an opportunity to view the team’s public runs at the Agora Hotel, the JFC base in Lago Patria and at the U.S. Navy Support Site base in Gricignano. The team has spent the past three months training.

“We have all worked so hard to put the team together, despite the demands of a busy multi-national HQ,” said Royal Navy Chief Petty Officer Steve Waudby, the team’s top trainer. “To be cheered on

by our comrades and families is real recognition of that.”

At Support Site, the Naples Military Harley Chapter and fire crews formed a Guard of Honour and led the Field Gun Team from the fire station to a nearby parking lot.

“It was such a boost that at the public run at Gricignano we achieved our fastest time to date of 1 minute, 44 seconds,” said Waudby. “Now we need to get to the UK, reduce that time even further and do our very best to bring home some silverware.”

The one-ton gun, hauled during the team’s runs, has been packed up and is now on its way to the United Kingdom.

The Competition will be held at HMS Collingwood on June 1. The team is scheduled to depart Italy next week.

NEX Expands Price-Match Policy to Include Major Online Retailers

The NEX is committed to offering its customers low prices every day. As part of that pledge, the NEX has made a big change to its Price Match Policy. The NEX will now match prices to Walmart.com, Target.com, Amazon.com, BestBuy.com, Sears.com, ToysRUs.com and BabiesRUs.com.

“We expanded our Price Match Policy to be more responsive to our customers,” said Rear Adm. Robert J. Bianchi (Ret), Chief Executive Officer, Navy Exchange Service Command (NEXCOM).

“More people are shopping online for their purchases and we want to assure them that they can get the same price at their NEX, so we are now matching major online retailers.”

The qualifying competitive online price may be presented on a mobile device such as a tablet computer or smartphone. If the price difference is $10 or less, the price will be matched on the spot. No proof is required. If the lower price on one of the online sites listed above is more than $10, the price may be verified by a NEX associate or supervisor.

As before, the NEX will continue to match the regular, everyday shelf price or advertised price in a local competitor’s current advertisement.

The X-47B Unmanned Combat Air System demonstrator (UCASD) completed its first ever carrierbased catapult launch from USS George H.W. Bush (CVN 77) off the coast of Virginia today.

"Today we saw a small, but significant pixel in the future picture of our Navy as we begin integration of unmanned systems into arguably the most complex warfighting environment that exists today: the flight deck of a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier," said Vice Adm. David Buss, commander of Naval Air Forces, the Navy's "Air Boss".

The unmanned aircraft launched from the deck of George H.W. Bush at 11:18 a.m. It executed several planned low approaches to the carrier and safely transited across the Chesapeake Bay to land at Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Md., after a 65-minute flight.

Buss called the launch a "watershed event" in naval aviation and said he expects that decades from now, a future "Air Boss" will have a picture of the X-47B launching

from Bush behind his or her desk just as he has a picture of aviation pioneer Eugene Ely's first-ever landing on the deck of a ship in 1911 behind his desk today.

"This ship and her crew continuously meet the challenges placed before them," said the ship's commanding officer, Capt. Brian E. Luther. "The successful launch of the X-47B is yet another first on USS George H.W. Bush. We were excited to host the experimental aircraft, and are proud to know we have played a part in a significant milestone in naval aviation."

Completing another important first for the UCAS-D program, the team demonstrated the ability to precisely navigate the X-47B within the controlled airspace around an aircraft carrier at sea and seamlessly pass control of the air vehicle from a "mission operator" aboard the carrier to one located in the Mission Test Control Center at NAS Patuxent River for landing.

"The flight today demonstrated that the X-47B is capable of operation from a carrier, hand-off from one mission control station to another, flight through the national airspace, and recovery at another location without degradation in

safety or precision," said Matt Funk, lead test engineer for the Navy UCAS program.

Prior to the catapult launch on Tuesday, the UCAS test team also conducted deck-handling and ship-integration testing to demonstrate the capability to safely operate the X-47B in the dynamic, unforgiving environment of an aircraft carrier flight deck.

"This event is a testament to the teamwork, professionalism and expertise of everyone involved with X-47B program," said Rear Adm. Mat Winter, program executive officer for Unmanned Aviation and Strike Weapons. "Their work will positively impact future unmanned aviation development for years to come."

Over the next few weeks, the X47B aircraft will fly approaches to the ship multiple times and eventually land on the pitching flight deck, said Navy UCAS Program Manager Capt. Jaime Engdahl.

The UCAS team will conduct additional shore-based testing with the X-47B at NAS Patuxent River in the coming months before its final carrier-based arrested landing demonstration later this summer.

Installation Libraries Kick Off Summer Reading Program

By Army Sgt. 1st Class Tyrone C. Marshall Jr., American Forces Press Service Libraries across the Department of Defense (DoD) will begin offering the fourth annual Summer Reading Program to students on their installations to promote reading fun, a Navy General Library official said.

Nilya Carrato, program assistant for the Navy General Library Program, highlighted DoD's Summer Reading Program during an interview with American Forces Press Service and the Pentagon Channel.

"The Summer Reading Program operates on DoD installations worldwide, and it runs, generally, between Memorial Day and Labor Day, although we know school gets out at different times all around the world," Carrato said. "And it's a way for students to have fun reading so they don't go back to school behind the curve."

Carrato used sports as an example of practicing a skill to stay prepared.

"If you play a lot sports, you need to know how to run," she said. "If you want to learn in school, you've got to already have your reading skills. And if you don't practice, you lose them."

Reading is much less of a chore for a child who enjoys it, she added.

"If you don't practice over the summer, you can go back a few weeks behind your classmates in terms of your reading skills," Carrato said. "And that might not be so bad this year, but by the time they're in sixth grade, they can be a whole year behind their class-

mates as far as their reading skills, because it does add up over time."

This year's Summer Reading program theme is a travel theme: "Have Book, Will Travel."

The program will apply throughout the Defense Department, and it will be available at installation libraries and at some child and youth programs during the summer, Carrato said.

"It goes all ages," she added. "Some bases will even do it for adults."

In addition to the travel theme, the program includes incentives for students to participate, Carrato said, such as bookmarks and other prizes.

She said participants can earn a military challenge coin for reading this year.

In last year's program, Carrato said, Defense Department children put in almost 30 years of reading time.

"We get the reports back from all of the installations around the world about how many minutes their kids read, and how many pages their kids read, and I add it all up," Carrato said. "It's millions of minutes."

Last year's program notched a 30-percent increase over the year before, "which was like a 300-percent increase over the year before that," Carrato said.

Children in the Naples area can sign up for the program when it starts June 24. Children who participate will be able to earn a prize for every book log completed and take part in fun activities. In September, MWR will award our most exceptional summer readers.

The three-hour event brought people together to watch a documentary on human trafficking and listen to guest speakers who are involved in outreach in the Naples area. Guest speaker Sister Rita Giaretta, a nun with the Ursuline Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Mary, spoke of her experiences with refuge Casa Ruth in Caserta and a social co-operative that helps trafficked women join the work force and gain autonomy. Guest speakers Paula Gabriel and Joyce Zick, missionaries who came to Naples to serve the Il Faro' church in 2011, spoke of their experiences interacting and providing comfort items to the women. “We have a volunteer committee of 55, and I think that’s what makes it so special to me, because this really represents the work that they do,” said Pullido.

USO Naples, the only center in Europe that supports a Navy base, is the USO hub for NSA Naples and supports U.S. 6th Fleet ships that come through the region. They won the award based on the results of the ‘2012 TellUSO Sound Off Survey,’ which polled more than 16,000 troops and families worldwide on the USO’s performance.

She said USO Naples would not have been able to support the NSA Naples community as well as they do without the countless hours of hard work put in by their volunteers and staff, their willingness to do everything they can to support the community and the support they have received from the community.

“We have a staff of seven people, four in operations and three in administration,” she said. “Our level of outreach to our community is multiplied because of the heart and effort we get from our volunteers.”

Pullido said the volunteers are the heart of USO Naples’ operations. The more volunteer help they have, the more events they host and the more support they can give to the community. One goal of USO Naples is to give as much support to their community possible with the resources they have available. One of the best resources they have is their volunteers.

“We want to provide opportunities for service members and their families to enjoy their time in Naples,” said Yeoman Seaman Thomas Fore, USO Naples volunteer. “Whether it’s events like ‘Taste of Home’ and bingo nights or USO tours and special trips, we are always looking for ways to improve the morale of our community.”

One of the ways USO Naples reaches out to their community is through hosting monthly events for the unaccompanied Sailors living on base. It is important to the USO to be able to go out and be a positive presence in the community.

“It seems like every weekend the USO has an event going on,” said Masterat-Arms Seaman Benjamin Bultema, assigned to NSA Naples. “They host some cool events like ‘Naples’ Got Talent.’ They do barbecues and cookouts. They are just always around.”

Pullido said it is important to them that they get out of their chairs and out of the office. They want to be a mobile unit that is able to support the community anytime and anywhere they can. It is also important to them that people know their doors are always open.

“The Naples area USO is one big happy family,” said Fore. “We are always looking to add more people.”

While more than 50 members of the NSA Naples community currently volunteer their time to become a part of the USO Naples family, the community also helps support the USO in other ways.

“One major reason we are able to provide the great support we have been able to provide here is because of the cooperation we receive from the leaders of the community,” said Pullido. “We meet with different leaders in the NSA Naples area on a regular basis to discuss things we can do to better support the community.”

Pullido said the support her organization has received from the community has made it easier to give them the support they need.

“We would not be able to do everything we do without the support we get from this community,” said Pullido. “When you are part of a community like this, everybody is a part of the USO.” Pullido said she didn’t expect to win the top award, but she was proud of the accomplishments and hard work of her staff and volunteers, and the support they have received from the community. Even if USO Naples never receives the title of best center in the world again, as long as they get the volunteer help and community support they are experiencing from their community, their community can expect USO Naples to continue to provide a positive impact on the morale of the NSA Naples community for a long time.

Navy Lieutenant Lights the Cauldron to Start the 2013 Warrior Games

Two-time Paralympic gold medalist and former Team Navy member Lt. Brad Snyder - alongside Britain's Prince Harry and U.S. swimming superstar Missy Franklin - lit the cauldron to kick off the fourth annual Warrior Games at the Olympic Training Center May 11 in Colorado Springs, Colo.

"I am humbled by the opportunity to still be a part of something very near and dear to my heart," said Snyder, who was blinded by an improvised explosive device in Afghanistan in 2011. "I love my Navy teammates and I am really proud of all of them."

Retired Navy Boatswain's Mate 1st Class Jim Castaneda was the Team Navy torchbearer.

During a brief torch relay he and representatives from the other Warrior Games teams took turns carrying the torch toward the cauldron.

Castaneda, who uses a wheelchair, was pushed by his teammate and friend, Navy Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Angelo Anderson.

"I was so honored to be the torchbearer for Team Navy this year," said Castaneda, who has attended every Warrior Games since the event's inception three years ago. "When I carried the torch, it really represented who we are as a team, because I couldn't do it alone; I had Angelo helping me.

That's who we are - we all help each other."

In October 2007, Castaneda suffered a stroke during muster aboard USS Tortuga (LSD 46) while the ship was underway near the Philippines. He is accompanied at the Warrior Games by his wife Alona, who provides encouragement and non-medical support to him during competition. This year, Castaneda will participate in seated shot put.

"After my stroke, when I was in bed recovering, I remember seeing inspiring things in the news that gave me motivation. I hope seeing me carrying the torch gave someone else recovering in bed some hope, and that they know they are not alone," Castaneda added.

At the conclusion of the Opening Ceremonies, Anderson participated in a brief press conference with athletes from the other Warrior Games teams, where he was able to interact with Snyder, Franklin, three-time Olympic gold medalist Misty May-Treanor and two-time Paralympic silver medalist Kari Miller.

"It was so cool to meet the Olympians," said Anderson. "I get an enormous amount of inspiration from Brad Snyder. He got me back in the pool last year."

Shortly after Opening Ceremonies, representatives from the five U.S. Warrior Games teams, as well as senior military leadership, participated in a seated volleyball exhibition against the U.K. team, which included Prince Harry. Retired Navy Aviation Electrician's Mate Steven Davis was among the Navy representatives, and he engaged in good-natured verbal sparring with the Prince.

"We were giving each a hard time when we sat directly across the net from each other. It was a lot of fun to play against him," Davis said.

The Warrior Games includes competitions in archery, cycling, seated volleyball, shooting, swimming, track and field, and wheelchair basketball. The goal of the Warrior Games isn't necessarily to identify the most skilled athletes, but rather to demonstrate the incredible potential of wounded warriors through competitive sports.

Gen. Breedlove Becomes the 17th SACEUR From NATO Supreme Allied Command Europe Public Affairs

Gen. Philip M. Breedlove became NATO’s Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR), assuming command of Allied Command Operations from outgoing SACEUR, Adm. James Stavridis, May 13, in Mons, Belgium.

The change of command, presided over by NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen, marks only the third time in NATO history that an Air Force General assumes the post since the position was established in 1951 when Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower became the first SACEUR. Upon welcoming General Breedlove to assume his responsibilities at a critical time, Mr. Fogh Rasmussen noted, “You will quickly realize that the local community is very proud of its association with SHAPE. And I would like to thank Belgium and the people of Mons, for the hospitality and friendship they provide to all the NATO staff who work here”.

Breedlove is the 17th American officer to hold the prestigious post.

Members may also choose a Navy-funded permanent change of station move to anywhere in the continental United States when entering the program.

Upon returning to Active Duty, the CIPP participant's date of rank/service is adjusted day for day to account for their intermission, ensuring participants compete in promotion boards with people at the same experience level.

Twenty officer applications and 20 enlisted applications are accepted for the program each year. Interested applicants must first submit an electronic package to Navy Office of Diversity and Inclusion (OPNAV N134) program manager for consideration.

Packages are then reviewed for eligibility and routed to the member's detailer community managers before final approval by the Commander of Navy Personnel Command.

All program participants will return to active duty at the end of the period prescribed and will incur a two-to-one service obligation for every month in the program.

This obligation is in addition to any previously existing obligation. Time spent in the IRR will not count towards retirement, computation of total years of commissioned service, or high year tenure limitations.

Intelligence Specialist 3rd Class Alexander Fraser is an analyst, assistant intelligence watch officer and assistant information assurance manager for U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa/ U.S. 6th Fleet. In addition to his primary duties, Fraser is also his directorate's Defense Reutilization and Marketing Office (DRMO) representative. He has been with the command for 25 months and recently received his enlisted information dominance warfare specialist qualification. His goal is to advance to 2nd class petty officer in 2013.

New guidance for the Career Intermission Pilot Program (CIPP), released with the update of OPNAVINST 1330.2B, includes a provision that now permits Full Time Support (FTS) personnel to apply for CIPP. Announced in NAVADMIN 125/13, the revised instruction authorizes FTS personnel the option to participate in CIPP, which was previously closed to all Navy Reserve Sailors.

"These changes were in direct response to feedback we received from the fleet," said Vice Admiral Scott Van Buskirk, Chief of Naval Personnel. "CIPP allows us to meet the short-term needs of our Sailors, while ensuring they stay Navy for the long term. These important changes will now allow us take that mission further, providing more Sailors the opportunity to utilize this valuable program."

The revised instruction also authorizes up to 60 days of accrued unused leave to be carried over through a CIPP participant's intermission. It also clarifies authorization for disability processing, allowing participants that are critically injured or ill to be treated under the same provisions as a member serving on active duty.

CIPP presents a unique opportunity for Sailors to take a career intermission from the Navy, without penalty, and return to active duty to complete a successful Navy career.

His expertise in both conventional and laparoscopic surgery, along with his academic credentials, have served him well in his role as educator and mentor to medical and surgical students and residents at such institutions as the University of Puerto Rico, Jacksonville Naval Hospital and the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth.

Obtaining your Sojourner Permit Italian law requires all foreign personnel working or living within Italy, other than an active-duty member under military orders, to obtain a Sojourner Permit within eight days of arrival in Italy. This is different from a visa, which is merely an approval for entry into the country.
