Reminder: Claiming Lost and Found Items The Command Investigation Division would like to remind everyone that they have multiple items in their lost and found that have not been claimed. If you have missing items, please send an email to FCT.NA.NSA.LostAndFound@eu.navy.mil with a detailed description of the missing item (i.e. serial numbers of items missing, identifiable marks, color, etc.) and your contact information. Please allow 2-3 business days for a response. Reminder: Navy Shuttle Bus Courtesy Rules Passengers are reminded that common courtesy applies when riding the Navy shuttle bus. Head phones should not be too loud; all large bags and backpacks should be stored below the bus to ensure all available seats are available to passengers; please be brief and quiet when on cell phones; please do not recline seats if it affects the passenger behind you; please wait in the actual line to enter the bus unless you have an authorized bus pass. New Email for CID Crime Tips The Command Investigation Division has established an email account specifically for crime tips and would like to ask for help from the Naples community. If you see anything suspicious, or anything out of the ordinary that concerns you, please send us an email. From global, type the word ‘crime’ and the email address will appear. From any private email just send the message to FCT.NA.NSA_Crime-TipsNSANAPLES@eu.navy.mil. In your email, please state if you wish to remain anonymous or if CID may contact you for further information. Passport/Visa Requests Must Now Be Made 60 Days in Advance A reminder from PSD for all sponsors of inbound personnel: with furloughs about to begin, the DoD No Fee Passport and Visa delays for inbound personnel will most likely worsen before they improve. Travelers/commands should be submitting passport and visa requests 60 days in advance to give themselves the best opportunity of getting the passport/visa back in time to travel. NSA Security Access Card Issuance Suspended on Mondays Due to furloughs, there will be no issuing of NSA access cards/badges on Mondays. On Tuesday, Oct. 1, the office will resume normal working hours Monday thru Friday.


New Recycling Receptacles Delivered to Support Site Residences New color-coded recycling receptacles have been placed at all trash collection points at Support Site. Please make an effort to minimize the size of plastics and cardboards by breaking them down before putting them in the bins. Orange containers have also been placed around the Support Site for recycling clothing as more than half of the clothes donated to the NOSC are not sellable. These clothes will be diverted from landfills and sent to a charity. More information on the recycling process was distributed to each residence via a trifold flyer, along with biodegradable bags and cooking oil collection containers, from the Housing office. Questions or concerns regarding the new recycling program can be addressed to Lt. Peter Smagur at DSN 629-4670 or 081-811-4670. Reminder: Procedure to Purchase Bulk LPG for Home Heating Eligible members must go thru the NEX Residential Office at the Support Site. Customers should place their bulk LPG order and provide a correct home address to the NEX Residential Office 48 hours prior to requested delivery date. Customers must be home during the time of the delivery. Deliveries will be made from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday. No deliveries on Sunday or Italian holidays. Bulk LPG may be purchased year-round at NEX Customer Service. NEX Residential Office hours of operation are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Note: Authorized LPG Concessionaire Will No Longer Accept Phone Calls LPG Concessionaire will now only take LPG bulk orders from the NEX Residential Office. Bulk LPG coupons must only be utilized at authorized concessionaires who make deliveries thru the NEX residential Office. Misuse, abuse or bartering of LPG coupons or any tax-free gas coupon is a violation of Italian fiscal law and violators are subject to disciplinary and or administrative actions which include the suspension of their privileges and the payment of taxes to the Italian government. National Night Out Cheer Squad Practice Practice for the inaugural cheer squad will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays, July 16 to Aug. 5 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Support Site gym. An informative meeting for parents will be held July 15 at 4 p.m. Groups will be divided into ages 6-9 and 10-13 with a $20 fee for each lesson. Proceeds will help in purchasing a uniform and supporting National Night Out fundraising efforts. High school cheer squad member volunteers are highly desired. July 19: Tiger Shark Fundraiser at Carney Park Golf Course Naples Tiger Sharks is hosting their annual golf tournament on Friday, July 19, at Carney Park Golf Course. Check-in time is 9:30 a.m. with a start time of 11 a.m. Many specialty prizes will be awarded, including Longest Drive, Accurate Drive, Longest Putt and Closet to the Pin. All U.S. ID cardholders are invited to participate. There is a $35 entry fee, plus green fees. All proceeds go to assisting the Tiger Sharks reduce their up coming travel season. July 22: Craft Crew with Connect the Tots Connect the Tots is holding a craft event for families with young children on Monday, July 22 at the Support Site Community Center. The event starts at 2:30 p.m. and is open to all U.S. and NATO ID card holders. All materials will be provided to help your young child create something special. July 22: Fire Station Frenzy The Child and Youth Program and Fire Department are hosting Fire Station Frenzy on Monday, July 22. July 24: USO Kids Craft Day USO's Kids Craft Day at the Support Site will be held on Wednesday, July 24, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. for service members and children of all ages. The event will be held in the community center and feature crafts for area kids. Popsicles and snacks will be served, compliments of the USO. American Soccer Club of Naples (ASC) 2013 Summer Training Schedule Three summer skills sessions will be held July 24, July 31, and Aug. 7 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. for U.S. and NATO dependents aged 7 to 18. Cost is $10 per child, per session for non-ASC members. Additionally, the ASC week-long soccer camp will take place from Aug. 19-23 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Cost is $110 per child. ASC 2013-14 season tryouts will be held Aug. 27 and 28 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Aug. 29, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. All events will be held at the north soccer fields on the Support Site. July 26: The National Night Out (NNO) Golf Tournament Held at Carney Park Golf Course, check-in at 10:30 a.m. for a kickoff time of noon. Tournament fee is $30 plus green fees and cart (for non-walkers). Prizes include Longest Drive and Closest to the Pin. Sign up a full team of 4 or sign up solo and be assigned to a team. All proceeds will contribute to National Night Out, held Aug. 6. Team registration is ongoing until the start of the tournament. July 31: Support Site Base Cleanup with NASCPOA The Naples Area Second Class Petty Officers Association (NASCPOA) is sponsoring a base cleanup on Wednesday, July 31 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Volunteers are welcome and asked to meet at the skate park to help with the cleaning. Water, trash bags, gloves and


popsicles for kids will be provided. The event is intended to become a monthly evolution to help the base look its best and for community members to meet some new people in the process. Aug. 1: Tae Kwon Do Registration Begins Tae Kwon Do returns to the Support Site Fitness Forum with classes every Tuesday and Friday from Aug. 28 to Nov. 20. Two age groups are available: 4-8 and 9-18. Classes include the use of nunchaku, short baton, gloves and self defense. Cost of registration is $180 for 12 weeks. Aug. 5: Youth Auditions for “The Tortoise and the Hare” Missoula Children’s Theater will hold open auditions for all students in 1st – 12th grade on Monday, Aug. 5. No Zebras is a one-hour presentation that addresses sexual violence, stalking, and harassment through 12 vignettes and discusses bystander intervention. No Zebras is designed for junior Sailors and Marines, but all personnel are welcome to attend as space permits. Now-Aug. 23: Children’s Summer Reading Program at Support Site library. Kids (ages 3-13) may sign up at the Support Site library for this year’s “Have Book – Will Travel!” reading program.
