Uniform Wear Off Base Limited An increased force protection policy is in effect that curtails the wear of uniforms by service members off military installations. Effective immediately, service members shall not wear uniforms while using public transportation or get out of their personal vehicle while traveling in uniform. Military PT uniforms are also not authorized for use off base. FY14 Gas Coupons Expire Sept. 30 Fiscal Year 2014 gas coupons will no longer be accepted at ENI/AGIP gas stations after Sept. 30. The new NATO Forces petroleum product (POL) coupons, valid from Oct. 1, 2014 through Sept. 30, 2015, will be on sale at Navy Exchange outlets beginning Sept. 26. The quantity purchased will count against the October ration allowance and cannot be used until Oct. 1. The new liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) coupons will be available at Navy Exchanges beginning Oct. 1. As a result of the new contract, tax-free POL coupons will no longer be accepted at all ENI/AGIP. A list of authorized gas stations will be provided to the retail sales outlet. Expired POL and LPG coupons may be returned to the Capodichino or Support Site Navy Exchanges for refund within 90 days of the expiration date. Submit Questions for Upcoming All-Hands Call with CNO and MCPON In celebration of the Navy's 239th birthday, the Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) and Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy (MCPON) will hold a worldwide all-hands call on Tuesday, Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. local. The event will be televised on the Pentagon Channel and viewable online without the chat function at www.navy.mil, or with the chat function at www.livestream.com/usnavy. Questions may be submitted in advance by emails to socialmedia@navy.mil or posted during the all-hands call via www.livestream.com/usnavy. Personnel submitting questions should include their name, rank and command. Base Pool Fall/ Winter Hours of Operation and Swim Lessons The Capodichino base pool will resume its fall/winter hours on Monday, Sept. 29. Open hours are scheduled from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays, and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on U.S. holidays. The Support Site base pool will its remaining times for recreational swimming this Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Group and private swim lessons are available at the Capodichino base pool on Saturdays. Registration begins Oct. 1 at the pool office on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Represent your Alma Mater at the Naples High School College Night Students at Naples High School are seeking information about colleges and universities in the U.S. and overseas. If you’re a college graduate, College Night provides an opportunity for you to interact with prospective students and share information about


college admissions, scholarships, internships, campus life, study abroad, etc. The Annual College Night is scheduled to take place on Thursday, Oct. 9 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the high school. Interested college graduates are asked to contact their universities in advance to obtain various materials to distribute, such as course catalogs, DVDs, scholarship information, T-shirts and other giveaways. Sept. 26: Sponsorship Training with FFSC The Fleet and Family Support Center will be holding Sponsorship Training on Friday, Sept. 26 from 9 a.m. to noon at their Support Site center. Attendees will be provided materials, which walk them through their likely experience as a sponsor, to include checklists and timelines for Sailors with and without families. Sponsors are also provided examples of emails to send to inbound Sailors. The training helps the volunteers assist new arrivals before PCS and after reporting aboard as they get familiar with the new command and duty station. Sept. 26: Navy Second Class Swimmer Qualification Testing Navy Second-Class Swimmer qualification testing will take place on Friday, Sept. 19. It is open to active-duty personnel. Requirements include 25m each of front crawl, back crawl, breast-stroke, elementary backstroke; abandon ship (tower) jump into deep water; timed prone and supine floats. Sept. 27: Anberlin Concert at Support Site Central Park Alternative rock band Anberlin will be performing a free concert at the Support Site Central Park as part of their tour with Navy Entertainment and Armed Forces Entertainment. The show is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. and is open to all ages. MWR will have music playing during the pre-show starting at 6 p.m. with food and beverages for sale. Sept. 27: Joint Support Site Perimeter Cleanup The Naples Area Second Class Petty Officer Association is hosting a base-wide perimeter cleanup around the Support Site on Saturday, Sept. 27 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. USO Naples is sponsoring the Big American BBQ, which will follow the cleanup and take place in the Housing parking lot. All military, civilians, Italians and their families of all ages are welcome to come take part. Attendees should wear appropriate clothing and a safety vest. Sept. 27: Carney Park Flea Market Spaces Available The Carney Park Flea Market will be held on Saturday, Sept. 27 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and offer individuals the chance to unload their unwanted possessions. Reserve a selling space and table for $10. Additional tables cost $5 each and chairs cost $1 each. There are only 35 spaces available, so call Carney Park at 081-526-1579 to reserve your spot. The Flea Market is held in conjunction with the Fall Youth Sports opening ceremonies, which begin at 11 a.m. at Carney Park field #4. Sept. 27: Knights of Columbus Soccer Challenge at Carney Park The 2014 Knights of Columbus Soccer Challenge will take place at Carney Park on Saturday, Sept. 27 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Soccer Challenge is a competition designed for players to demonstrate the most basic soccer skill – the penalty kick. It is


open to all 9 -14-year-old boys and girls in the community and each participant will be allowed 15 shots at the goal from the penalty line (12 yards from the goal). Sept. 27: Rafting with NOR Center The Navy Outdoor Recreation Center is hosting Class I + / II+ whitewater-river rafting trip for attendees to get their feet wet on Saturday, Sept. 27. The trip is suitable for ages 12 and older. Transportation, guide and all equipment is included in the price of 49 euro for adults and 39 euro for ages 12-14. Sept. 28: USO Free Bingo USO Naples will host a Free Bingo event on Sunday, Sept. 28 at the Naples High School Cafeteria from 3:30 to 6 p.m. The event is open to all U.S. ID cardholders and will feature 12 Bingo games with prizes to include electronics, home appliances and more. Sept. 30: Naples Area ‘Resiliency Fair’ at Central Park The Naples Area suicide prevention coordinators will be hosting a "Resiliency Fair" at the Support Site Central Park on Tuesday, Sept. 30 from 3 to 6:30 p.m. September is Suicide Prevention Month and ‘Resilience’ is a critical factor in preventing suicides. Resiliency is built by strengthening personal health, support systems, and life skills. The fair will be a family-friendly event that highlights the support, training, services, and opportunities available to our military community in Naples. Attendees are invited to bring a lawn chair or blanket, some snacks and enjoy a relaxing evening at Central Park with family and friends. AFN is scheduled to conduct a live broadcast and there’s still time to join if your local organization or group would like to participate. Oct. 1: Preventing and Controlling High Cholesterol Workshop Community members are invited to take part in a High Cholesterol Workshop taking place at the U.S. Naval Hospital Naples on Wednesday, Oct. 1 at 3:30 p.m. The workshop will be held in the Health Promotion's classroom on level 1 of the hospital. Attendees will be able to learn the good, the bad and the ugly when it comes to fat. Tips will also be given on ways to improve health and lower the risk of heart attack and stroke

The requester will receive a confirmation through the Pavilion Reservation Calendar, which should be printed and taken to the event. The reservations are not for playground areas. Individuals can make pavilion reservations 60 days in advance, command or private organization events can be made 180 days in advance, and large functions (concerts in the park, National Night Out, etc.) can be made one year in advance. Sept. 27: Parents’ Night Out Parents can take a night off on Saturday, Sept. 27 from 4 p.m. to midnight. The Child Development Center will be open so parents can enjoy the time with
