Nov. 15- Dec. 20: Support Site Power Outages for Annual Preventative Maintenance Annual preventative maintenance on electrical substation transformers requires a series of power outages in order to safely maintain an efficient electrical distribution system within the Support Site. Due to battery back-up capability, all facility and Housing life safety systems will function under normal operating conditions. The schedule for the power outages is as follows: • Saturday, Nov. 15 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.: All Housing Units (B2001 through B2163); Elementary School (B2057); High School (B2058); Child Development Center (B2065); Telephone Switch (B2070). • Tuesday, Nov. 18 from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.: Housing Units: B2028; B2029; B2031; B2039 through B2049; B2114 through B2129. • Friday, Nov. 21 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Housing Units: B2101 through B2113; B2147 and 2147A; 2148 and 2148A; 2149 and 2149A; B2130 through B2146; Telephone Switch Bldg. Town Hall for Conversion of Family Housing Buildings - Nov. 18 Residents of Support Site buildings 2022, 2024, 2025, 2026, 2032, 2033, 2034, 2035, 2036, 2037 and 2038 are invited to a special Town Hall with Capt. Doug Carpenter, commanding officer of NSA Naples, on Tuesday, Nov. 18. The Town Hall is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Support Site movie theater to discuss the conversion of these buildings to Unaccompanied Housing. The conversion will allow for increased quality of life opportunities for the single Sailors currently residing in the Capodichino barracks. The timeline of building conversions and the current resident’s relocation options will be discussed at the Town Hall. RSVP by Nov. 13 to Lt. Command Holiday Greeting Card Contest Commands and private organizations can create a Holiday Greeting Card to be displayed along the Support Site entrance from Dec. 3 to Jan. 2. The 8 x 4 foot of plywood can be picked up at the Auto Wood Skills Center beginning Tuesday, Nov. 4. Winners will be announced at the MWR Holiday Tree Lighting event on Friday, Dec. 5. The first place


winners receive eight certificates (up to five people each) for free bowling lanes at Strikers. Judging will consider logo, best winter holiday theme and creativity (color and design). Participants should ensure the card can withstand the wind and rain. Cards must be turned back in to the skills center by Dec. 2. The ATM on the Capodichino spine will be removed Nov. 18 and the new ATM will be installed Nov. 19. The ATM at the Air Terminal will be removed Nov. 19 and installed Nov. 24 due to site preparation requirements. There will be no Community Bank ATM service available Nov. 19 until the new machine on the spine is in full service. For any questions, please call 081-635-5301. Now- Nov. 14, 17-18: Navy College Program CLEP-A-THON The Navy College Office is sponsoring a CLEP-A-THON at the National Test Center in November. Take as many CLEP & DSST tests as you would like Nov. 12- 14 and Nov. 17- 18. Earn college credits fast. Tests are free for active-duty service members. Nov. 14: Inflatable Fun at Youth Center A family celebration with inflatable fun is scheduled at the Youth Center on Friday, Nov. 14. There will be a bounce house, obstacle course and DJ available. It will be open from noon to 2 p.m. for an all-ages community time with no registration required. All children must be accompanied by an adult and should enter through the School Aged Care side. It will be open for middle school students only from 6 to 8 p.m. and high school students only from 8 to 10 p.m. Teens must be a member of the center and should enter through the Teen Center. Nov. 14: NOR Ski Shop Opens The Ski Shop will open its doors for the season on Friday, Nov. 14. It will be open Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for ski and snowboard repair, snow equipment rentals including ski/snowboard packages (for adults and children), helmets, sleds and more. Nov. 19- 20: ASIST “Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training” The Navy Region Europe, Africa Southwest Asia CREDO team will hold an ASIST Workshop for everyone who wants to feel more comfortable, confident and competent in helping to prevent the immediate risk of suicide in our community. Nov. 20: NMCRS Baby Basics Class A monthly class on newborn care and other useful tips for expecting parents is scheduled to be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Thursday, Nov. 20. Nov. 21: Adoption Awareness Fair The Fleet and Family Support Center will be hosting an Adoption Awareness Fair on Friday, Nov. 21. It will be held at the Support Site Fellowship Hall from 9 to 11 a.m. Guest speaker Nina Contino, a social worker with American Adoption Professionals Abroad, will also be able to schedule appointments for a future home study as needed by any community members. Nov. 21: Single Sailor Thanksgiving Dinner Outreach A single Sailor Thanksgiving outreach is being hosted by the Religious Ministries Team at the Support Site hospital galley on Friday, Nov. 21. The free home-cooked Thanksgiving dinner will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. and is for all single Sailors and geo bachelors – bring your appetite and a friend. There will also be free giveaways. Nov. 22: Family Turkey Trot All ages are welcome to join the Family Turkey Trot on Saturday, Nov. 22 at the Support Site Fitness Forum. Pick up a registration form at either gym and turn it in on the day of the event. Registration begins at 7 a.m. in Central Park with a child/family 1-mile run

Nov. 23: USO Thanks-Filled Bingo USO Naples will be hosting a free “Thanks-Filled” Bingo event at the Naples High School Cafeteria on Sunday, Nov. 23. Nov. 24-25: Training on Turn-In/ Disposal Services DLA Disposition Services Europe and Africa will be conducting training on the disposal turn-in procedures, to include the item identification process- the first step of the disposal procedures. Training will be held in the Safety Training Room (G053) on the ground floor of the Admin II building at Capodichino from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. A representative will brief on the Environmental turn-in procedures and the recycling process.
