OHA and MIHA Surveys for Italy Needed The Overseas Housing Allowance (OHA) and Move-In Housing Allowance (MIHA) survey is being conducted until April 22 for Italy. The MIHA survey is conducted once every three years as part of this combined survey. The data gathered by service members residing in private housing helps to ensure proper allowances are being paid for both allowances. If you’ve been stationed in Italy for three months, reside in private housing and receive OHA, then visit www.defensetravel.dod.mil/site/oha-utilmiha-mar.cfm. For the utilities portion, you will be asked to report the average monthly cost of each of your utilities and the average monthly cost of any routine maintenance expenses incurred over the last 12 months. For the MIHA portion of the survey, you will be asked to report actual expenses incurred when moving into your private residence. The electronic survey takes approximately 45 minutes to complete and should be completed by you or your spouse, whoever has knowledge of utility/recurring maintenance and MIHA expenses. If you are able to access the survey from home, it is recommended that you take the survey together.
