Town Hall – Tuesday Night NSA Naples Commanding Officer Capt. Doug Carpenter will host a Town Hall meeting for all personnel and families assigned to the Naples area on Tuesday, May 19. It will be held at the Reel Times 2 Theater on Support Site at 6 p.m. The Town Hall includes a question-and-answer session and all ages are welcome. For anyone unable to attend, questions for the Town Hall can be emailed to the Public Affairs office at pao_naples@eu.navy.mil or messaged to the NSA Naples Facebook page at www.facebook.com/NSANaples. Local National/ Contractor Access ID Card Systems The base access ID card systems are operational at both Support Site and Capodichino Pass & ID Offices. Beginning on Tuesday, May 26, Pass & ID will be make badges by appointment only. The appointments will be 15 minute time slots on non-holiday weekdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. To schedule an appointment at the Support Site, call DSN 629-4264. To schedule an appointment at Capodichino, call DSN 626-4955. USO Free After-School Snack Attack Every Wednesday USO Naples will be providing free after school snacks at their Support Site office every Wednesday from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. until the end of the school year. Commissary Shopping Carts Only for Parking Lot and Store Use The Commissary recently removed the euro coin requirement from their shopping carts for convenience and safety purposes. The shopping carts are only for use in the store and parking lot area. Community members are asked to return carts to cart areas at their earliest convenience. Craft Vendor Spaces and Volunteers Needed for Festa Americana Festa Americana will be held at Carney Park July 3- 4. Food vendor spaces are sold out, but private organizations can still sign up on a waitlist. Craft spaces are available and open to local vendors, non-U.S. residents and approved private organizations for only $50. Volunteers are also needed for various event activities. Now- May 18: Summer Day Camp Registration for Enrolled SAC Children (ages 6 to 13) Child and Youth Programs (CYP) will be hosting a Summer Day Camp, which will run weekly from June 15 to Aug. 21 with field trips, swimming, outdoor activities and other fun events. Camp is open to dependent children of active-duty service members, DoD civilian personnel, and Reservists (on active duty, on orders or in training). It is also open to NATO community personnel who have an MWR privilege card for their child.


Children must be 6 to 13 years old. However, 5 year old children can also participate if they have already completed kindergarten. Registration will be taken at the Support Site Youth Center weekdays from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on a priority basis. For more information, call DSN 629-4722 or 081-811-4722. May 15th: Naples Elementary School PTA Spring Carnival (Volunteers Needed) The Naples Elementary School Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is partnering with the Navy Exchange to bring the annual Spring Carnival fundraising event on Friday, May 15. It will be held in the NEX parking lot from 4 to 7 p.m. and will have food, fun activities and games. Entry to the carnival is open to all U.S. and NATO ID cardholders. Tickets for this event will be 4 tickets for $1.00 or 25 tickets for $5.00. In addition to the game tickets, a meal ticket will be available for $5 and it will provide each ticket holder with two different meal options. Additionally, the PTA is looking for 35- 70 individuals to volunteer their time and talents to make the event successful. They need volunteers to help with collecting tickets and running the games, set up the event and clean up. May 15: British Festival Military ID holders and their families are invited to JFC Naples on Friday, May 15 from 2 to 6 p.m. for an afternoon at the heart of all things British. Brit Fete will provide a chance to experience the finest of British culture and tradition. Entry is free and there will be stalls, games, children's entertainment, displays, mini highland games, traditional dancing demonstrations, live music, typical cuisine and all the fun of the fair! May 15-17: CREDO Family Enrichment Retreat The Region’s Chaplains Religious Enrichment Development Operation (CREDO) team will offer a Family Enrichment Retreat May 15-17 available to children and families ages 8 and up. Participants and their family members will gain skills to help sustain healthy interactions throughout the trails of military life. This weekend has it all for you and your family. May 16: America’s Armed Forces Kids Run In conjunction with the NEX Customer Appreciation Weekend, Child and Youth Programs is hosting its annual America’s Armed Forces Kids Run at the Support Site Central Park. Registration begins at 7 a.m. with the ½ Mile Run beginning at 8 a.m. and the 1 Mile and 2 Mile Runs beginning at 8:20 a.m. The event is open to children 5-13 years old and parents are invited to run alongside their children. May 18, 25, June 1, 8: NOR Archery 4-Day Course Join the excitement of shooting the bull's-eye with a 4-day archery course at the Support Site Youth Center Gym from 7 to 8 p.m. The program is open to 10 year olds and above (under 17 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian). Cost is $30 per person for the

May 19: Asian American and Pacific Islander Month Event A celebration for Asian American and Pacific Islander Month will be hosted by the Naples Area Multi-Cultural Committee on Tuesday, May 19. The event will be held in the Capodichino base theater from 11 a.m. to noon, followed by a potluck in the theater lobby. May 19: Free Adult Comedy Show at O’Rhys Come to the Support Site O’Rhys Irish Pub (located in the Strikers Bowling Center) for a 7:30 p.m. show, followed by a meet and greet. Comedians Yoursie Thomas, Jerry Garcia, Justin Rivera and Dean Austin make up “Laugh, It’s An Order!” an AFE show touring the Mediterranean. Show is free and open to adults only. May 20: NMCRS Baby Basics Class A monthly class on newborn care and other useful tips for expecting parents is scheduled to be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, May 20. The class is offered by Navy Marine Corps Relief Society (NMCRS) Visiting Nurses and is open to U.S. military, civilians and NATO ID cardholders. May 20: NOR Paddling Workshop Join a quick start intro class on Wednesday, May 20, which will illustrate basic paddle skills, equipment and safety procedures to prepare you for NOR kayaking day trips. Fee is $35 per person and includes instruction, equipment and transportation. Workshop is for 12 year olds and up (youth 17 and younger must be accompanied by adult). No previous experience required. May 20: USO and MWR present Hunter Hayes in Concert at Central Park Hunter Hayes, American country music singer-songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist will be at the Support Site Central Park on Wednesday, May 20. May 23: NOR Trekking Day Trip Join a group of enthusiastic hikers for the NOR’s trek in Mount Faito. No previous mountaineering experience is required. Participants must be 15 years or older to participate (ages 15-17 must be accompanied by an adult/ legal guardian). $30 per person includes guide and transportation from the Support Site. May 24: Southern Wesleyan University at the Chapel The Religious Ministry team will be hosting a small group of college musicians from Southern Wesleyan University. Just this year, they have performed at the U.S. Naval


Academy Chapel, the Pentagon, Fort Jackson, MCRD Parris Island and now they will be here in Naples, Italy. They will lead our Protestant worship services on Sunday, May 24 at 8 a.m. and 9:15 a.m. at the Support Site Chapel. If you are around for the Memorial Day weekend, consider joining the service and seeing the musicians. May 27: Advanced Placement Workshop for Parents & Students Please join the Naples High School Advanced Placement teachers to discuss next year's course offerings. May 30: NOR Sea Kayaking Day Trip Navigate along the Sorrento Marina della Lobra seashore and paddle a comfortable recreation kayak on Saturday, May 30. Trip cost is $45 person (15 years and older). At Carney Park, there is a yearly individual or family fee to pay for use of the pool, fitness program, camping/cabins, sports fields, and picnic areas.
