Tickets on Sale for the 2015 Naples-Area Navy Ball The Naples-Area Navy Ball will be held in Sant'Antonio Abate, Naples on Saturday, Oct. 17 to celebrate the 240th birthday of the U.S. Navy. Service members, GS employees, Local Nationals, DoD contractors and their guests are invited to attend. The uniform for Navy personnel is either Dinner Dress Blue or formal attire. Other branches should wear service equivalent uniform and civilians should wear appropriate formal attire. Tickets will be sold in front of the Bella Napoli food court on Capodichino from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Thursday through the end of August. Tickets can also be purchased by contacting MA1 Kunkel at DSN 626-4871 during normal working hours or MA1 Ellis at DSN 6262207 after 3 p.m. Childcare is available through a ‘Parents Night Out’ to be held at the Child Development Center (CDC) from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. Register your children at either CDC from Sept. 1 until Oct. 9 if you wish to have childcare during the celebration. Upcoming Events and Opportunities at the NOSC Thrift Store The Naples Overseas Support Club (NOSC) is looking for volunteers to help the reorganization efforts taking place at the Support Site’s Thrift Store. Community members looking for volunteer hours or to just help out can contact Cheryl Woods at nosctsmanager@gmail.com or Robin Lee at noscpresident4@gmail.com for more information. The Thrift Store is looking for people to help re-organize the books, electronics’ room and to do general cleaning. NOSC recently gave more than $40,000 in scholarships to Naples High School seniors. This and the assistance provided to other base groups and school sports are due to the profits generated at the NOSC Thrift Store.

USO’s Dog Days of Summer Giveaway 2015 USO Naples will be giving away a free tour to Sorrento and Amalfi by land and sea on Saturday, Aug. 22. The tour package is good for a party of four members. Community members can stop by one of their offices on Capodichino or Support Site and fill out the entry ticket- that’s it. Bonus entries can be earned by booking other USO tours and by listening to AFN Naples on 107.0 FM. The contest is running now until Aug. 19. Pre-register for the Annual Mud Run at Carney Park Save the date! Don't miss out on the Annual Mud Run, which will be held on Saturday, Aug. 29 at 10 a.m. in Carney Park. Pre-register online through Aug. 26 at www.mwritt.org and get a discounted registration fee of $10 per adult and $5 per child (5- 12 years old). After this date, registration will cost $20 per adult and $10 per child.

Fee includes T-shirt, custom bib and medals. A free Muddy Zumba will follow the event.

Registration Open for Youth Flag Football Skills Camps Register today for one or all of the Flag Football Skills Camps to be held for youth aged 6 to 15 at the Support Site south fields on Aug. 10, 12, 17, 19, 24, 26, 31 and Sept. 2.

Now- Aug. 30: NSA Naples Gate Closures Due to upgrades of the gates at both Support Site and Capodichino, the gates will be closed in August according to the following schedule: • Support Site Back Gate closed Aug. 3- 9. Pedestrian traffic will be able to access the Housing office via the turnstile gate behind their office from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• Support Site Front Gate closed Aug. 10- 16. The Pass & ID office will be open for paperwork and pedestrian traffic during this time.

• Capodichino Front Gate closed Aug. 17- 23 from 3 p.m. to midnight daily. During the front gate closure, the west bus stop will not be in service.

• Capodichino Back Gate closed Aug. 24- 30 from 9 a.m. to 5:30 a.m. the following day. It will be open for the morning’s incoming traffic. The main Capo bus stop will be moved from in front of NGIS to the northeast corner of the CDC for this week of upgrades.

Aug. 7: Free Concert Under the Stars A free concert under the stars is being presented at the Support Site Central Park on Friday, Aug. 7 beginning at 8 p.m. U.S. Naval Forces Europe Band’s Jazz Combo will be playing their music for all ages. Aug. 7: Little Patriots Bowling Night It’s bowling time! USO Naples is hosting two free bowling parties for area military families on Friday, Aug. 7. The two bowling parties will take place at Strikers on Support Site. Event times are 3 to 6 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Bowling, shoe rental, pizza and soda are included in the package. The event is open to 16 families/ teams per playing time. Each team should include 5 people. One adult (18+) must be registered on each team. Aug. 9- 13: Vacation Bible School 2015 at Support Site Chapel The Support Site Chapel is inviting children to participate in this year’s Vacation Bible School program, which includes interactive Bible fun, music, crafts, games, food and more. The G-Force Vacation Bible School will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Support Site Chapel from Sunday, Aug. 9 to Thursday, Aug. 13. Children entering Kindergarten through 6th grade are invited to attend and 7th grade to adults are welcome to volunteer.

Volunteer opportunities include G-Force Squad Leaders for the Bible Zone, Craft Zone, Recreation Zone, Music Zone, Science Zone and G-Force Café Zone. Aug. 11: Youth Health & Nutrition Stretch Class Ready, set, stretch! Child and Youth Programs and U.S. Naval Hospital Naples’ Health and Promotions department is offering a class for kids aged 5- 12 to learn the importance of stretching before you exercise. Aug. 17- 20: ASC Napoli Competitive Youth Soccer Tryouts American Soccer Club (ASC) Napoli is a competitive youth soccer team that plays from September - May in Italian leagues. Tryouts will be held Aug. 17- 20 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

on the north fields of the Support Site. Players are expected to attend all sessions. Tryouts are open to U.S. and NATO affiliated boys and girls born in 2008 or earlier. There is no cost to tryout. Early registration can be done Aug. 13- 14 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. in the gazebo by the north fields. Registration on Monday, Aug. 17 begins at 5 p.m. Current ASC members must register and try out. A mandatory parent meeting will be held on Monday, Aug. 17 at 5:30 p.m. at the gazebo to provide information about ASC and to answer any questions.

Aug. 19: Ship Shape at Capodichino Health Promotion and Wellness at U.S. Naval Hospital Naples is offering the innovative fitness program Ship Shape. At Capodichino, orientation will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 19 at 3 p.m. at the Fit Zone Conference Room in the gym and will meet every Wednesday thereafter for eight weeks. Aug. 20: USO Dodgeball Tournament Teams are wanted to participate in the annual USO Naples Dodgeball Tournament that will take place on the Capodichino tennis/basketball court on Thursday, Aug. 20. The event is open to 16 teams. Each team should include seven people and two single/ unaccompanied service members must be registered in each team. The tournament is open to U.S. ID card holders. Sept. 15: Motorcycle Safety Ride to Anzio NSA Naples is hosting a group motorcycle ride on Tuesday, Sept. 15 starting from the Support Site motorcycle range and ending at Museo dello Sbarco di Anzio (Beach Landing Museum of Anzio). It will be an all-day ride with a 2.3- 3 hour ride each way.

The event will start with a TCLOCS (Tires/ Controls/ Lights/ Oil/ Chassis/ Side Stand) inspection. The group ride to Anzio and back will be with groups no larger than seven.

Each group will have a ride captain. Riders should speak with their command motorcycle safety representative and get approval from their chain of command. For more information, contact Dave Peters at DSN 626-3147.

Additional MWR Notes Now-Aug. 30: Free Bus from Capodichino to Support Site to Carney Park Use the MWR free bus that runs from Capodichino to Support Site to Carney Park and return for U.S. ID card holders every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Seating is on a first come, first serve basis. Riders must be 16 years old and above to ride alone. The bus is not staffed with an MWR employee. Now- Aug. 7: Fall Gymnastics Priority Registration Participants of the spring 2015 gymnastics season can now register for the upcoming fall gymnastics season, while new students will be able to register beginning Aug. 24. All children wanting to participate in Kindergym thru Gym Kids 3 must be assessed on Aug. 22 at 9 a.m. at the Support Site Youth Center Gymnasium before registering.
