EDITORIAL VISION
Vision for Thessaloniki 2019 - 40th National Selection Conference of EYP Greece Hey there! If you are reading this, there is a chance that you might be interested in applying. If you do and see that we expect you to bring ideas to the table and envision the team along with your involvement in it, we only deem it fair for us to do the same. So without further ado, let’s just jump into it. We want to build a team that will consist of a dynamic and vibrant set of young people. On an individual level, we will be looking for enthusiastic, broad-minded members who do not shy away from challenges, who keep "selfdevelopment" high on their priority list, have a strong desire to grow and are inclined to go out of their way in order to warrant their finest performance. Furthermore, we will also be looking for two Editorial Assistants who will not only translate our vision through their work but will also aid us in leading the group as members of the Editorial Team. By allowing Media Team Members to come up with, orchestrate and execute their very own projects, we will ensure the uniqueness and the diversity of the output of Thessaloniki 2019. Furthermore, while fully acknowledging the importance of traditional fields of media, we believe that also going beyond them will further allow us to enrich the output of the event. Taking that into account, challenging oneself with outside the box approaches that may not seem conventional will be endorsed. Additionally, along with “What?” and “How?” we would also like to especially highlight the “Why?” question when it comes to Media Projects in order to guarantee purposeful and impactful output. By attaching the session theme to our content as an overarching guideline, we aim to shed light on the importance of being active as we find it crucial to include opinions of participants on this matter along with the compilation of different session elements and display it as the cherry on top of a big coherent web of workpieces. Further acknowledging the past Media Team reports and feedback, we see the overall presence of the Media Team as a big area of improvement, therefore propose to not only be focused on documentation and what is posted online, but also enriching the experience for the participants there and then by hosting activities either during breaks or evening programs. We often forget during the work we put out about how much fun doing what we do is. We desire for you to be reminded of that over and over again throughout the event and enjoy yourself to the maximum whilst ensuring quality content as well as a fruitful learning experience. We shall and are very open as well as excited towards seeing what ideas you bring to the table, whether it shall be building up on the aforementioned or something completely new. At the end of the day, if you do end up applying, it goes without saying that we want you and encourage you to convey yourself, not a molded version of you that to a degree can be perceived as someone the Selection Panel would fancy more. Feel free to loosen up and be yourself. We hope to see you in Thessaloniki, Asya and Nikita
