If there was a word to sum up NSCAD’s fifth annual Artist for a Day it would be “joy.” Looking at these pictures you will see concentration, diligence, amazement, and smiles most of all. And that’s because Artist for a Day is so much fun, not only for our guests but for our student, staff and alumni volunteers. It’s a ball. This year’s event took place on Saturday, May 7, from 10 am to 4 pm. Hundreds of people came through our Port Campus, as well as partner locations: Bob Campbell’s leather work station in the Seaport Artists Annex; the Nova Scotia Centre for Craft and Design; the Canadian Immigration Museum at Pier 21; and Brian Sloan’s impromptu drawing studio on the benches in front of the Seaport Farmers Market. Samba Nova also drew a big crowd during their lunchtime performance. No one can resist those rhythms and it’s great to see dancing on the street!
