WE LC OME
Every scholarship award elevates our entire community.
We believe that philanthropic investment in a community college education opens the door for each and every person in our region to realize their full potential and achieve their dreams.
Scholarship awards make it possible for NSCC students to step through that open door by helping to eliminate financial obstacles so they can focus on completing their education.
The NSCC Foundation Scholarship Program is essential to achieving equity in education and social justice in our community. We align scholarship levels with present day tuition, fees, and associated costs for three-credit courses all the way up to a 60-credit associate degree at NSCC to help our students overcome challenges and graduate. This ensures that every scholarship best positions NSCC students to maximize its transformational impact. As always, we welcome donors to customize scholarships in ways that are both personally fulfilling to them and meaningful to our students.
On behalf of the NSCC Foundation Board of Directors, congratulations to our scholarship awardees, and thank you to our generous donors. When we unite our time, talent, and treasure around higher education, all of us become stronger, together.

CLASS OF 2025 COMPUTER INFORMATION SYSTEMS PROGRAM CAREER ASPIRATION: SOFTWARE ENGINEERGrowing up, I knew that I wanted to go to college. I’m a ‘first-gen’ student, and I want to make my family proud. I want to be someone who inspires the people around me.
I have to pay for school on my own, and I work full-time to be able to a ord my education. This scholarship has taken a lot of pressure o my shoulders, and it means that I can enroll as a full-time student, which is amazing!
I went through a lot trying to get to where I am today. Now that I’m at NSCC, my family is just super proud. They are really excited for me, and they can’t wait to see me cross that stage and earn my degree.
“This SchoLarship has taken a lot of pressure off my shoulders.”

CLASS OF 2024 ENGINEERING SCIENCE TRANSFER PROGRAM CAREER ASPIRATION: CIVIL ENGINEER
I chose NSCC because it was a great deal for the same education I could get for a much higher price somewhere else. I want to earn a bachelor’s degree, and NSCC is setting me up really well for that. I am very happy I chose to go this route.
One of the things that stands out about NSCC students is that we all really want it. It takes determination. I value education and I’m willing to do anything to get the best education I can.
I hope that someday I can be one of the people that invests in education. It’s powerful to know that people care enough to give it to students they have never met. My benefactor has made more of a di erence than they realize, and I can’t thank them enough.

“The Traicoff Award means so much to my wife, Diane and me. Though it is in our name, this award represents all of the incredible students along the way who helped grow this program to the success it is today.”

GEORGE TRaicoff Honoring
a legacy
Honoring a legacy
Dr. George Traico served as President of NSCC for 26 years, and as Honorary Director of the NSCC Foundation until his passing in 2023. Much of what the College and Foundation are today were created under his leadership. Among his many accomplishments, Dr. Traico instituted a culture of philanthropy and volunteerism to benefit NSCC students with the establishment of the NSCC Foundation in 1983 and the NSCC Foundation Scholarship Program in 1985. What began with just two $300 scholarships and Dr. Traico ’s vision to reach $1M in total awards has grown to more than $300,000 in scholarship awards annually and over $5M in total over nearly four decades.
Dr. Traico ’s legacy will forever live on through the achievements of our past, present, and future scholarship awardees, and through the dedication of the college’s faculty and sta , donors, and partners to our amazing students and this incredible college.
The Traico Award was established in 2019 in the name of Dr. George Traico , NSCC President Emeritus, who launched the NSCC Scholarship Program in 1985 in partnership with the NSCC Foundation.
T RAICOFF AWARD Robert and Joan TUFTS
The NSCC Foundation is proud to recognize Robert and Joan Tufts for their exemplary and inspiring commitment to scholarships for student success through the Christine Tufts Beveridge Scholarship.
Christine was a graduate of Salem High School and resident of Danvers.
For my wife, Joan and I, our hearts are here. We started out by doing something as a family to memorialize my sister, Christine, because she loved the school, and we ended up falling in love with the school ourselves. We feel at home here, and we love what you are doing for students.
We started first with one scholarship, then two, and now we are increasing to three. Getting to meet the students and the people at NSCC has given me the confidence that the investment we are making here is going to pay o . As a donor, I can give students my time, talent, and treasure that they deserve, along with the school.
We are in a position where we can help, and this is where donations should go. We’d like to think we are going to step up and do whatever the school needs to help.
In addition to their scholarship giving, Robert and Joan give annually to the Here to Help program and are Founders’ Circle Members of the Lighthouse Society.
“As a donor, I can give students my time, talent, and treasure that they deserve, along with the school.”
