Depth within

-Alish Dhaked

“If you lose others but find yourself, you won.” Once a researcher of tranquility spent years of his life in search of peace, had various deliberations upon it, measuring the very depth of every book upon peace but results never satiated him. It so happened to him one day in the night that he got very frustrated of all this research and had a short, magic break, which he did not think of. That actually made his work complete and satisfied him at that very moment, what was it? Well….that was the night of full moon and when he looked beyond the boundaries to open sky, his eyes had tears upon nature’s beauty that thrilling cold vibes of the moon with a little bluish nature of sky. He thanked God for teaching the lesson of peace so lovely and laughed upon his stupidity. When we think about this man we would love to appreciate the nature for all this. But in actual his very keen desire to calmness made him to look beyond those professional eyes and inculcate what nature was offering. Many a times we do not look at the things the way they are but the way our habitual behaviour wants it to be like. How much do you love this life, your friends, your family your passion depends upon how much do you love yourself. To what extent you have that deep desire within you to offer life what it gives to you invites pleasures from life and you are actually made a prince then. This whole world is a mirroring of ourselves what we are from within makes how we are living our life. A famous poet was interviewed at the last stage of his life and he was questioned pretty surely that he had of course achieved the aim of his life. But to its surprise the poet replied that the life just gone in preparing to live he had not yet live a single moment with totality. Peace is for what everyone craves directly or indirectly ,a poor desires for money assuming it will satisfy him but a rich lives the life to its most materialistic way and still searches for tranquility. Then the actual search for your true being starts.

Staring at the night sky ( about inner peace) -Lavanya Desiraju

With pride and joy within my heart And a smile on my face I climb up to the terrace Blowy winds and snowy mist filling the place I sat down on the ladder To look up and breathe fresh air Lifting my head up to the sky Into the starred and moonlit room I enter into the state of trance Clueless about life, sweat appears on my forehead And my limbs quiver and shiver Tears roll down my cheeks And I get my legs close I lose my power I feel feeble and chaotic To the space that gave me the question i ask for the answer, staring at the night sky

Isn’t It Ironical ? -Nipun Singhal

It is indeed ironical that we profess peace day in and day out but almost no one actually pays heed that whether what’s preached is practiced or not ? There are people, incidences and events in every field of this universe that conveys this ides of peace but violates it in one way or the other.

At the international frontier, we have leaders all around the world making all sorts of statements regarding how the world is becoming a better place to live in but no country is satisfied with its international relations. There have been live examples being witnessed by us and we continue to do so such as infamous US-China trade war impacting the whole world directly or indirectly, continuous terrorists attacks at places like Delhi and London which have global significance, protests by various interest groups for their own benefit of their own group only, Syrian Civil War and the list goes on. What’s more ironical is the fact that there is nothing like peace, but still there is no one who hates ‘peace’. Terrorists trigger bloodbath saying that it is required for world betterment and tranquility that the human soul meets the absolute & divine. Talking at national level, the story is no different. We have similar concepts like religion and culture. In the name of history & culture, certain groups lead to a lot of chaos in the society over minute issues. This chaotic atmosphere is not caused in isolation with religion. The country known for its varied religion is often seen struggling, quarrelling and divided on the pretext of just religious differences. The trio of History-Culture-Religion coupled with fake news makes peace a far cry. News which is primarily aimed at spreading awareness adds fuel to the fire at time, thereby contradicting its objective of making the world cognizant.

So many characters in this long story of small globe who preaches peace but do not follow it. Isn’t it ironical?

Building Peace

- Megha Unni Nair In the wake of the Pulwama attack, I came across an article about the importance of peace. What caught my attention was a sentence about the need of "building peace". It's not the first time these phrases have been used. Everyday we come across phrases like 'establishing peace', 'gifting a life of peace', so on and so forth. My curiosity began to manifest itself. Isn't peace a normal condition? Isn't it what should be found by default everywhere? Why is there a need to gift a peaceful life when it's a right, a normalcy? Well, the answer is we have become used to violence so much that peace is no more a normalcy for us. Violence or Ashanti is the new normalcy now. It is the condition to which human beings are born and living a peaceful life is nothing less than a fortune. In other works a precious gift. Even little children no more know what peace is. There eyes have become used to dead bodies and blood. Their ears no more hear lullabies. They hear abuses and gun shots. Their little feets have to walk through glass pieces. They grew up thinking this is what the world is about. Peace is just a five letters word ,yet its importance is increasing day by day. The world seems to be at the verge of destruction. Hidden forces seem to put the lives of millions at stake for their own vested interests. The world is tearing apart. One day if our children will ask what we did that time, I think that time is now. At this time, it's not only important to understand peace but to encourage it. To spread it. In other words to gift peace to millions out there who desperately need it. It's a challenge and if it has to be achieved, then it must begin from right now because we don't have time to waste. So let each of us put the best of our efforts to achieve the best we can and to build peace here and everywhere.

The Song Of Peace - Nirikta Mukherjee The time has come, To ring the bells of humanity without error. The Song Of Peace, let us all hum, To break through the dark clouds of terror. Let’s spread the light of human revolution. May there be tranuility to prevail! Forging ahead with a greater resolution, Bidding wars and violence, farewell! Let guns be the least used commodity With joy instead of bullets in pockets May each soldier be a peaceful entity Let the number of cases fall on the docket. Hatred and war are just excuses to kill. Let there be no casualaties and not a sin And the world be on a happiness pill Smiles will prevail and peace must win.

Peace

- Rajsi Sah Peace is the beauty of life. It is sunshine. It is the smile of a child, the love of a mother, the joy of a father, the togetherness of a family. It is the advancement of man, the victory of a just cause, the triumph of truth. ~ Menachem Begin Peace is a product of a positive mental attitude. Peace is the natural state of society. When peaceful conditions prevail in a society all activities take place in their proper form. But if the atmosphere of peace is disturbed the normal functioning of the site is restricted. This law applies to man, as well as to the entire universe. Hence Peace is very important in our lives and a peaceful life is essential for the overall well being of humans. A peaceful life is yours when you remove ego and desires completely and visualise yourself as a peaceful being. A peaceful state of mind enables the person to think clearly and control negative emotions a lot better than you can in a disturbed state of mind. This way, one can also make wise decisions related to the various aspects of life. In the world, the issue of War and Peace has always been a focal issue in all periods of history and at all levels of relation among Nations. The effects of conflicts are far reaching forcing many to leave their homes and live as refugees. Conflicts shatter lives and hence stunts development. And due to this reason supporting peace becomes important more than ever. It has been rightly said that "world peace can be achieved when the power of live replaced the love of power".

Therefore, if we all come together and do our small part each day in spreading love, peace, and unity; we can make the world a positive place for all of us to enjoy without any fear or sadness.

TALES TO TELL -Rudra Akshay Kumar

He professed peace and followed tranquility to build heaven of gods.

She wept for peace establishment; "Its fear", they proclaimed. They called it victory; But destiny proved it as worst defeat. Why peace is so valuable ? "It should built over years and can be destroyed in moments.

SUCCINCT In the history of English language the most famous speeches include that of Martin Luther King, Barack Obama, Swami Vivekananda, Jawaharlal Nehru and many more great people. The reason why they are remembered even now is that the then hoi polloi had a keen interest in the thoughts of their leaders and valued their interests and thus such great speakers emerged. In those days even brightest, boldest and the most influential people relied on newspapers and weekly magazines as these were the only universal medium to enable all the leaders to communicate their thoughts. Public gatherings were an opportunity to showcase your mindset and call up for a movement, such gatherings have always played significant roles in Independence war of various colonies. On the contrary in today's era such speaker sessions are hardly noticed. A study shows that more than 83% of youth tend to miss such events citing them as boring and outdated, also the rest 17% end up in their phones during the discussion. Although more and more sources of communication have developed, but still freedom of speech and expression seems to have lost it's true value. The journalists and reporters face many issues like stringent rules of publishers, force from the government, fear from notorious gangsters, change in public tastes and innumerable other constraints. If such threats are undermined we come across cases like Gauri Lankesh and Bre Payton. In such circumstances depicting the truth is the real challenge to these people thus they end up trapped in a vicious circle where there is no way out but publish false facts. If this goes on we might even lose the handful of leaders, orators and trustworthy sources of information. Thus the day demands the youth to be active participant in such events, to raise voice against the wrong and appreciate unbiased opinions

There is the sea, with its warm blue moving water, harboring an entire ecosystem deep down but never letting it disturb the silence of the surface. The same tranquility of the sea reminds me of how my mother has kept her patience in all the hard times. She never lets the million worries and thoughts inside her rise to shake her smile. Then there are the mountains which have stood strong however strong the wind may be, just like my father who is always there, guarding all of us from all the storms life brings with it. Not once has he trembled or surrendered to any hardship. The real harmony of life is in being with them and standing by their side when time reverses and they need me more than I will. -Aarushi Agarwal
