T
he Chicago Tribune newspaper once dubbed Strahan ‘the best little town in the world’ and we know what it meant.
With its perfect location, nestled between the waters of Macquarie Harbour and the rainforest, it has faultless natural assets. Add to that the restored pioneer buildings – the “cutesy” shops, hotels and cottages crowding up the slope from the compact waterfront – and you’ve got a scene that could work as a Disney film set. These days it’s more sugary sweet than wild west, but it works as a gateway town because of the unbelievable beauty that surrounds it. ~ Lonely Planet
