Photos: FIGURE_A Steel reinforcements have been placed in an excavated site. These structures have safety capping features (in yellow) as an OHS measure. These reinforcements are likely to be for a ground beam as they begin to construct the foundation of the structure. The concrete poured onto these foundations represent a composite structure where the concrete prevents the steel from rusting whilst the steel provides the concrete with tensile strength. FIGURE_B This is an image of a wall formwork with horizontal and vertical timber studs as reinforcements. The stage of works here is more advanced than Figure A where they are beginning to construct the primary members of the structure such as this foundation wall. Once this formwork is complete, concrete will be poured into it thereby creating an in-situ concrete foundation wall.
LINK BETWEEN FIGURE A AND B The line of steel reinforcements lie adjacent to the formwork which suggests that the foundation wall will be connected to the lateral structure on which the steel reinforcements will support.

FIGURE_C This is an image of the old heritage-listed pavilion which was severely damaged by fire in the 1950’s. A temporary downpipe has been installed to the pavilion whilst the hydraulics of the old structure is also present. Timber diagonal supports have also been added. There has been no works to restore the broken tiles on the roof or improve the foundation of the building.
FIGURE_D This section of the construction site has the most progress. The plywood formwork is clearly in place and ready to receive extra reinforcement if necessary and the subsequent concrete block placement. Steel reinforcements have been installed in certain grids whilst conduits appear to present in most grids. Concrete blockwork can be seen on the wall closest to the camera and the builder has also installed temporary timber edge protection for OHS measures. At this stage, on-site pouring of concrete and block work is occurring to create the concrete blocks for the basement slabs which will be lifted and placed into the area photographed above.
