F

all is a season of the senses. The colors, the smells, the tastes—everything comes together to create one of the most delicious times of the year. Fresh-picked produce comes in to local restaurants every day from the fields, winemakers continue to coax subtle flavors out of grapes, and chefs blend the ingredients at hand to create dishes so good, the memory of the meal will last you the rest of the year (or at least until spring, when the next edition of Menus is published). In the meantime, please enjoy this tribute to the food and drink of golden days and crisp, long nights.

Chronic Cellars The concept of Chronic Cellars came about in the midst of harvest in 2004. We had used the term “The Chronic” to describe likable objects before, but we had never considered it a suitable descriptor for wine. We sat alongside the crush pad one evening in our wine stained clothes and wet boots laughing about the idea of a wine that targeted a casual lifestyle. From dream to reality, our first wines went public in 2008.
