F

all is for falling leaves, pumpkin pie, and hopefully a little (lot!) of rain. But the season of food contained in our annual Fall/Winter Menus is so much more fulfilling than allspice and pureed orange stuff. It’s full of brunch with mimosas and farm-to-table local eggs at Foremost Wine Company; a new burger joint, Brooks Burgers, in Pismo Beach; and the good ol’ favorites at Las Cazuelas and Old SLO BBQ. This publication will fill you in on what’s delicious at the new SLO Brew on Garden Street and what Thomas Hill Organics is bringing to downtown SLO. There are luscious reds and crisp whites at Hope Family Wines and Opolo, delicate, fresh veggies from Babé Farms, and the start of the holiday season of events at the Apple Farm. New Times is ready to fill up on some comfort food and pray for rain. Are you?

Chronic Cellars The concept of Chronic Cellars came about in the midst of harvest in 2004. We had used the term “The Chronic” to describe likable objects before, but we had never considered it a suitable descriptor for wine. We sat alongside the crush pad one evening in our wine stained clothes and wet boots laughing about the idea of a wine that targeted a casual lifestyle. From dream to reality, our first wines went public in 2008.
