Challenge 26 aims to bring our alumni community together to raise awareness of the refugee crisis and to support students from asylum-seeker and refugee backgrounds to access higher education at Newcastle University.
The global refugee population has more than doubled in the last decade, with The UN Refugee Agency reporting 26.4 million refugees worldwide at the end of 2020.
Around half of the global refugee population are under 18, and more than two-thirds come from just five countries.
Take on the challenge and complete a sporting activity including the number 26 between Monday 13 September – Saturday 9 October.
We've created a 2.6km walking route of our Newcastle city centre campus, showcasing some of the highlights and new features of Newcastle University. Next time you're in Newcastle, why not walk this route and reminisce about your uni days?
