‘Since launching Nü in 1997, my vision has been to create a world of sophisticated, raw and feminine fashion, championing strong, style-conscious women. One of our key sources of inspiration throughout our history has been travel, something we have so missed this past year. Instead, we’ve sought inspiration from our archives. SS22 is a sartorial collage of memories and moments in time, inspired by some of our best-loved signature pieces. We also reached out to our loyal customers to discover your favourite Nü pieces from over the years, which served as a wonderful source of inspiration. By reflecting, we inevitably move forward and write new stories together. We are pleased to introduce new exciting developments throughout our design and craft process.’ – Nü founder, Jannie Lymann. As always, the importance of sustainability is a thread woven throughout the collection; these are pieces to be worn again and again, mixed and matched with pieces from previous seasons and brought to life with new combinations.

Whether you’ve reached your destination or the journey is yet to begin, this season feels like flicking through a treasured photo album. Defined by a sandy palette of café crème, dusty navy and rose, hints of fresh eucalyptus and olive green bring a fresh touch. Astract geometric motifs and painterly lines decorate fabrics, draping the figure and cinched at the waist. Coated suede adds textural interest, with hints of camo and embroidery anglaise interspersed throughout.

COLD HAND WINERY

SS21 is manifestation of calm and self-reflection. An idyll of calm waters and heat-drenched plains. Stillness and serenity. What better place to shoot our SS21 campaign than a hidden vineyard that embodies all of this, and more. In the heart of the Danish countryside, just a stone’s throw from Randers and Viborg, and just beside an apple orchard, sits the Cold Hand Winery. This is a place which showcases nature at its finest; the calm air carries a soft breeze, peppered with scents of plum and berries. Acres of lush green landscape lie out ahead of you, and the apple trees have centuries of stories to tell. This is Cold Hand Winery, home to some of the world’s best fruit wine and the setting for our SS21 campaign. The winemaking process is imprinted on the hearts and souls of all that work in the Winery. Fermenting and bubbling in the grand product hall, these centuries old processes produce the finest fruit wine. Wine-making itself is an ever-evolving process but at the core, nothing has changed. By respecting the natural world around them, the team at the Cold Hand Winery produce unrivalled taste and quality. The less we interfere with nature’s innate evolution, the more authentic the wine. Right here is where the best Danish fruits and berries are found, and the unique

temperature fluctuations so classic of late Summer produce a rare acid profile; pure, fresh, aromatic and found nowhere else. Experimentation is something integral to the Nü aesthetic, something we share with the winery. Here, winemakers innovate and play with varying notes to produce a wine that surpasses the one that came before. You could say they’re perfectionists. From apples, pears and plums to currants, rhubarb and quince, the

winery is a celebration of the local produce. The perfect backdrop to our collection and it’s underlying palette of burnt sienna, blushing cherry and sun-bleached blue. The Cold Hand Winery ethos is one of curiosity and passion. Driven by a love and admiration of nature, every harvest is a new adventure. Every year, thousands flock to visit the winery, where they are welcomed with open arms and infectious enthusiasm. To put it simply, this is where wine becomes unforgettable. We couldn’t think of a better place to shoot our collection. It is here that natural linens, blossoming florals and sumptuous textures come to life.

LET’S START WITH SOMETHING LIGHT... Enjoy a taste of Summer with our recipe for a classic Aperol Spritz, developed by Skagen’s Thirst cocktail bar using the winery’s delicious sparkling rhubarb Rheum. -2 parts sparkling rhubarb Rheum - 2 parts Aperol - 1 part orange soda - Orange slices

Fill the glass half full with ice and add orange slices. Add Rheum, Aperol, top with orange soda and serve.

ESCAPE TO THE VINEYARD With its remote location in the idyllic countryside, accompanied by the hushed soundtrack of nature, there’s nothing quite like glamping at The Cold Hand Winery. A perfect gastronomic getaway for the wine connoisseur, glamping at the vineyard is an experience to remember. Whether you choose to spend the night in an authentic 11,000 litre Italian oak barrel, the iconic 1972 Airstream or in one of three secluded safari camps, you’ll enjoy a taste of life on a working vineyard. When it comes to food, the winery serves a range of meals cooked in the on-site restaurant kitchen, using the finest local ingredients. Inspired by traditional Nordic cuisine, there’s a food package to suit everyone, with homemade snacks and hand-

crafted bread to delight the taste buds. A stay at the winery is the perfect chance to enjoy a unique array of fruit wines without worrying about the drive home later. So, sit beneath the stars, open a bottle and watch the world go by…

Karsten is our incredible chef and allround handyman. A self-taught chef and self-confessed geek(!), he’s known for his attention to detail and creative spirit. Not content with serving beautiful food to the whole team every day, Karsten is also responsible for building our trade stands and general renovation. In his spare time, he’s a keen mountain-biker and spends time with his wife, kids and grandchild.

2021 marks 20 years since our Warehouse Manager Peter joined NÜ. Peter and the team are always customer-focused, and the warehouse is known throughout the company for it’s fun and hard-working atmosphere. In his spare time, Peter can be found on the golf-course, or refereeing the local handball games. He lives with his wife and three children.

Katrine is a woman that does it all! From supporting customers to liaising with agents and distributors worldwide, she’s well-versed in all departments across the company. Having been with us now for 14 years, Katrina is a well-loved member of the team. A keen cross-fit enthusiast with a penchant for the sweeter things in life, she spends her time away from work on the farm with her family including horses and chickens!

RENÉ – CO-OWNER & CEO René is our CEO and co-owner and joined us in 2016. René is devoted to creating a strong future for NÜ, and passionate about preserving the DNA of the brand and culture that has been built over the past 24 years. René’s wife Camilla also works here at NÜ and together they have two boys. When he’s not in the office, René is an active sportsman and is most often found out running. René is happiest spending long summer days with his family on the Silkeborg lakes.

MADE TO LAST

At NÜ, we have been focusing on how we use plastic in the last few years. Like many other industries, we understand the importance of using plastic in a responsible and environmentally friendly way. This includes how we handle our plastic in everyday life, but it’s also about making environmentally conscious choices about our packaging.

At NÜ, we design clothing that lasts season after season. We don’t follow rapidly changing trends because we have our own unique design DNA. Our focus is on creating beautiful clothes in timeless designs that will last and that you can wear year after year.

We want to do what we can to keep plastic out of nature. That’s why we are aiming to eliminate our use of new disposable plastic and to replace all our plastic with 100% recycled plastic. Since 2020, all our polybags are made from 100% recycled plastic, as will all of the plastic used to package our products. We are currently in the process of finding the right packaging and packing solutions, allowing us to make good, environmentally conscious choices without compromising on quality. As well as focusing on plastic, we generally strive to use recycled, recyclable or biodegradable materials wherever we can. This means that 80% of our packaging is currently made from recycled material and handled in an environmentally conscious way. We have a partnership with our suppliers where we utilise each other’s expertise, and work together to find sustainable solutions for the handling of our products, packaging and materials. At NÜ, we always want to do what we can to welcome a greener future and to run a healthy business with happy customers, employees and partners.

ORDER-BASED PRODUCTION At NÜ, we produce to order. That means that all NÜ collections are produced on the basis of what our retailers order – including our concept stores and online store. It prevents excess stock and means we can focus on producing as little waste as possible.

NÜ pieces are designed to be mixed and matched across the collections, and with our ’7 days in 7 ways’ campaign, we want to inspire you to cre-ate seven different looks with just seven items of clothing. We invite you to take part in a more sustainable future with our mix and match styles. www

At NÜ we are constantly looking for new initiatives that will help promote a sustainable future. We are aware of the fashion industry’s effects on the environment, and we enjoy being part of the sustainable development and focus in the industry. We believe that every little action can make a difference to the journey towards a sustainable future – a future we work towards every day.

CODE OF CONDUCT At NÜ, we are aware of our ethical responsibility in terms of our own business, our people, and nature. As a company, we take responsibility for our actions and we expect and demand the same of our partners. We recognise that culture and laws vary from country to country, which means that our suppliers work under different conditions. However, we insist on manufacturing being done in a responsible manner and on all employees working in good conditions and being treated with respect. Our production is based on long-term relationships with our suppliers, which gives us in-depth knowledge about the conditions in their factories. Together with SME denmark, we have developed an ethical code – a code of conduct – setting out the minimum requirements we expect of our suppliers and the working conditions in their factories. This code of conduct covers areas such as rules on child labour, employees’ rights, working hours and workplace safety. We carry out regular audits to ensure that our contractual agreements are adhered to. Our code of conduct is not a guarantee. But we can guarantee that we are aware of our responsibilities and that we are continuously working to improve our partners’ working conditions.
