What is Trenchless Sewer Pipe Repair? Trenchless pipe repair has grown around the world, taking over from traditional pipe repair methods to avoid disruption and costs. With traditional methods, there is considerable and costly digging of trenches. This work can cause damage to landscaping and paving, leading to repairs that must be paid for by the owner.
Traditional methods can take days to complete and they require a large team of plumbers using expensive equipment to dig deep trenches which they then have to fill in. This is a severe safety risk for the plumbers. Once the plumbers are in the trench, they work on removing the damaged piece of pipe and replacing it. They then fill in the trench and any additional work is the responsibility of the owner. Trenchless technology was introduced and has become a welcome alternative to traditional pipe replacement methods. Trenchless repair involves the use of CIPP (cured in place pipe) lining. This is a flexible tube of felt which is then soaked in a two part epoxy resin. It is then blown or pulled into place inside the pipe to form a strong and durable internal barrier. Once the CIPP lining has been inserted into the pipe, the rubber bladder is inflated to push the epoxy soaked fleet against the inside of the pipe. It is left here to cure, creating a hard, internal barrier which offers a welcome range of benefits which cannot be ignored. The great benefit to this is that it creates a reliable and durable solution. The less joins you have in your pipes, the less chance there is of unwelcome leaks in the future. In addition to being efficient, the CIPP lining provides a corrosion resistant internal barrier which can extend the life span of your pipes considerably.
